It’s the 25th anniversary of Agile! And for more than two decades, organizations have adopted
Agile to improve speed, adaptability, and customer value. Teams work in iterations, deliver
frequently, and continuously improve.
Yet many organizations still struggle to achieve meaningful outcomes at scale.
Why?
Because we contained Agile to optimize teams — not the system those teams operate in.
As organizations scale Agile, they unintentionally increase dependencies, coordination
overhead, and fragmentation. The result is predictable: local improvements, but limited global
performance.
Now, with the rise of AI, this tension becomes even more visible. AI dramatically increases the
efficiency of individual teams, but without structural change, it amplifies existing bottlenecks
instead of resolving them.

Speaker Bio
Roland Flemm is CEO of Org Topologies, Co-author of Org Topologies and the 10X ORG book.
He has a technical background (20+ years of development and infrastructure). He works as an organization design consultant with a focus on creating adaptive org designs.
