About this event

AI for early warning & infrastructure resilience: satellite data, flooding prediction & critical protection.

Extreme weather events, flooding, landslides - the impact of climate change on critical infrastructure is becoming increasingly tangible. AI offers new possibilities for early warning systems and the protection of essential services. But where does research stand, and how do these approaches translate into practice?

At the heart of this event sits the intersection of AI, natural hazard prevention, and critical infrastructure protection - specifically: AI-driven analysis of satellite and remote sensing data for early risk detection, predictive modelling for flooding and alpine natural hazards, and digital infrastructure monitoring to improve resilience and reduce downtime.

The University of Vienna, TU Wien, and AI Factory Austria AI:AT invite you to an afternoon of talks and cross-sector networking. Bringing together researchers, industry professionals, and public administration stakeholders, the programme will feature concrete examples from satellite data monitoring, railway early warning systems, and the insurance sector. Alongside the talks, participants will have the opportunity to exchange directly with experts and organisations active in the field.
