South Dublin Radio Club, in collaboration with TOG Hackerspace, will host a free, family-friendly drop-in event for Dublin Tech Week 2026 at Ballyroan Library. No pre-booking necessary, all welcome.
Amateur Radio & Connected Tech: Making the Invisible Visible will showcase how wireless technology connects people, devices and space. Visitors can explore live spectrum displays, satellite signal demonstrations, digital modes and Morse, simple IoT workflows, and (if feasible) a remote HF contact. A beginner-friendly radio “fox hunt” will introduce direction-finding through an interactive game. Short, repeatable demos will run throughout the day.
Demos include:
Live “See the Airwaves” SDR spectrum display
Satellite signal reception/decoding (live or pre-captured)
Digital modes and Morse interactive demo
IoT workflow: sensor → transmission → dashboard
Remote HF contact (subject to feasibility).

Informal Q&A with licensed operators and makers
