AWS Serverless Data Lake Day: Ask Your Data in Plain English
About this event
Everyone wants to build AI agents. But an agent is only as good as the data behind it. In this hands-on workshop, you build both: a data pipeline on AWS, and an AI agent that answers your questions about that data in plain English.
Along the way, you build a serverless data lake, a single home for all your data that runs without any servers to manage.
New to AWS? You're in the right room. This is an introductory session. You follow guided, step-by-step labs, use code we prepared for you, and mentors walk the room to help whenever you get stuck. If you can read a few lines of code, you can do this.
What you'll build
- Stream live events into the cloud and store them in Amazon S3
- Clean and organise the data with AWS Glue so it's ready to query
- Explore a real global-events dataset (GDELT) with SQL in Amazon Athena
- Create an AI agent with Amazon Bedrock that answers questions about that data
- Get a first look at Infrastructure as Code: how everything you built becomes reusable code with Terraform
You'll walk away with
- A working pipeline from raw data to AI agent, built by you
- A clear picture of how data and AI agents fit together
- A real project for your portfolio
What to bring
- A laptop and a charger
- An AWS account with admin access. Never set one up? Follow AWS's short guide: https://aws.amazon.com/resources/create-account/. New accounts get up to $200 in free credits (https://aws.amazon.com/free/), so set yours up a few days before.
- A free AWS Builder Center profile for learning resources after the workshop: https://bit.ly/4yT04pX
Can't make it after all? Please cancel your RSVP so someone else can get your seat.
