About this event

The ITMB Society x AWS Cloud Club is proud to present our second official Cloud Club event of the year!
This time, we’re bringing AWS directly to campus!

AWS Day at The University of Manchester is a full-day experience designed to bridge the gap between theory and real-world cloud computing and innovation.
We’ll be hosting professionals from Amazon Web Services, including:

  • Solutions Architects
  • Data & Analytics specialists
  • AWS Jam facilitators
  • Recruitment representatives
  • Cloud engineers working across live AWS environments

What to expect:

1. Industry Talk: How AWS is Used in Practice
AWS professionals will walk us through how organisations leverage cloud infrastructure, AI services, serverless architectures, analytics tools, and scalable systems in real business environments.
Understand how AWS services are applied beyond the classroom!

2. Live Q&A Panel
Ask direct questions about:

  • Breaking into cloud and tech careers
  • What AWS recruiters look for
  • Certifications and skills at AWS
  • Life as a Solutions Architect or AWS collaborator
  • The future of AI and cloud computing

3. Interactive Workshop Session
We’ll finish with hands-on workshop of:

  • AWS PartyRock (build generative AI apps without heavy coding)
  • AWS Jam (real-world cloud challenge simulations)

You’ll get to experience these environments yourself!
