About this event

๐Ÿค“ Who is it for?

IT professionals and software engineers. We talk about challenging problems, tricky interview questions, emerging tech, AI workflows, ideas for pet projects and everything else at the top of your mind.

๐Ÿ“Key waypoints

Battersea Power Station, Battersea Park, Albert Bridge, Ransome's Dock, Battersea Bridge, St. Mary's Church, Battersea, The Candlemaker pub.

This is our second event for tech and software professionals who like a good discussion while doing some exercise in fresh air.

Join us on this riverside walk for a 2-hour stroll through Battersea Park, around its ponds and fountains, along the river Thames.

๐Ÿ“œ Plan

18:30 Meet in front of the Battersea Power Station, near the Pier. Do a short intro and set a challenge to work on as a group.

18:45 Head towards Battersea Park to enjoy its ample shade.
The park trails will keep us in the shade - perfect for a hot July evening!

19:20 Refreshment break by the gorgeous fountain for a visit to the bathrooms, an ice-cream or a short sit-down on the bench around the bandstand. This is also where we choose the subject for our continued conversation.

19:30 On we go - past the Peace Pagoda, landmark Albert Bridge connecting Battersea with Chelsea, Ransome's Dock surrounded with fancy-looking glass building and luxury residential quarters.

20:00 Soon after passing St. Mary's Church and just before reaching the Battersea Railway Bridge with Chelsea Harbour on the opposite side of the river, we turn into the streets leading up to Clapham Junction with its excellent connection by rail, tube or overground.

20:25 We end our walk by contributing to the Thinking On Your Feet Manifesto Of The Day**: Best Colleagues Are The Ones Who...**

I will write down everyone's statements and publish the manifesto on the meetup page the next day.

If we feel up to it collectively, we may pop into the local pub The Candlemaker for an extra time to share feedback or tell what we've learned.

๐Ÿ“ข Note: we will be breaking for summer holidays after this event and resume the walks in September.

Bring a bottle of water, optional snacks, umbrellas and anything else that will help you walk for 3-4 miles.
