About this event

Thinking about freelancing in tech? Get honest insights on finding assignments, building your network, and getting started.

Thinking about freelancing in tech? Or already started, but still figuring things out? This event is for people who want to become freelancers and for freelancers who are still in the early phase of their journey.

Because starting out is about more than making the leap. It is about knowing how to find assignments, how to build your network, and how to create a freelance career that fits you.

During this evening, you will hear an honest and relatable story from Karen De Bock, a digital professional with more than 20 years of experience in design, front end development, project management, client strategy, and leadership.

Karen started her career as an employee, then moved into freelance work to gain more freedom, flexibility, and variety. What started as solo freelance work later grew into a company of around 25 people. After selling that business around the COVID period, she is now returning to freelancing with a fresh perspective, focusing on project management, coaching, and guiding people through change.

Her story is interesting because it is real. No polished guru story. Just practical experience, honest lessons, and a career path that evolved over time.
