About this event

This time we're doing something different β€” and bigger. πŸ—“οΈ
Instead of talks, we'll spend the evening with our hands on sticky notes and our heads in a shared domain: planning an OpenSpace conference. Together, we'll run a full Big Picture EventStorming session, using the conference itself as our domain to explore.
What is EventStorming? EventStorming is a collaborative, visual workshop technique invented by Alberto Brandolini. A diverse group of people β€” no slides, no UML β€” gathers around a long paper roll and maps out a domain using orange sticky notes for domain events, commands, actors, and more. The result is a shared understanding that no single person could have created alone.
What will we do? We'll model the entire lifecycle of an OpenSpace conference: from the first spark of an idea, through session proposals, the marketplace, breakout rooms, all the way to retrospective and follow-up. In doing so, we'll discover boundaries, hotspots, and maybe even a bounded context or two. πŸ˜‰
This format is perfect for experiencing EventStorming from the inside β€” as a participant, not just as a spectator. Whether you've facilitated dozens of sessions or never put an orange sticky note on a wall, you're welcome.
Why an OpenSpace as the domain? OpenSpace is a domain that most of us can reason about without deep prior knowledge, making it ideal for a hands-on learning session. And who knows, maybe we'll actually use the model for something real. πŸš€
What to expect:

  • ~30 min warm-up & intro to EventStorming mechanics
  • ~90 min collaborative storming session
  • ~30 min debrief, discussion, and retrospective
  • Food, drinks, and good conversation

Come with curiosity and comfortable shoes β€” we'll be on our feet. 🦢
We're looking forward to storming with you!
