Agents, Physical AI, "RentAHuman": From LLMs to "Meatspace" Workers

Who does the job when AI enters the physical world?

Session 3 looks at where AI technologies stop being primarily digital tools and start coordinating work in the physical world.

Hosted by the Liquid Legal Institute, this session centers the impact of AI agents’ move from software into “meatspace” by brokering, scheduling, and supervising human labour (“RentAHuman”). As these systems shift from assisting to orchestrating work, questions about autonomy, responsibility, and substitution start popping up.

On the panel:

• Eva Simone Lihotzky (Founder of raidiant; Host of the In-Between Tech & Trust Podcast, Author and Keynote Speaker on AI Adoption & Ethics) on deploying AI in organisations with both impact and integrity, and keeping the future of AI not just powerful but purposeful.
• Kai Hermsen (Co-Founder, DECAID.secure; formerly Charter of Trust at Siemens and Identity Valley) on digital trust and secure AI implementation as autonomous systems move into the enterprise.

Moderated by Dr. Bernhard Waltl, Co-Founder of the Liquid Legal Institute, responsible for Legal Operations and Legal Innovation at the BMW Group and a Research Fellow at Stanford Law School.

• How are AI agents changing our understanding of work, autonomy and responsibility?
• What opportunities and risks arise from the allocation of human labour via AI systems (‘RentAHuman’)?
• What demands does this transformation place on the political system?
• Can we expect any implications for political processes and for the concentration or shift of power (and also dependencies)?
