CSS Styling Fundamentals

This workshop will give an introduction to styling (CSS), and contains exercises aimed at practising the fundamentals of styling for modern websites.

We will begin with a presentation, followed by some exercises, covering the following topics:

1. Introduction to CSS
2. Syntax
3. Selectors
4. The cascade, selectors, and specificity
5. The box model
6. Media queries
7. Positioning (some flexbox & grid)
8. CSS variables
9. DevTools & CSS

Preparation:

• Bring a working laptop!
• Remember to bring a charger
• modern web-browser (Chrome/Firefox etc.)
• Some knowledge about html is preferred but not required.

The workshop will be held at Thormøhlens Gate 55, pizza will be served at 17:00 in the common area. We will order food with the attendance list in mind, so we highly appreciate if you RVSP, so that we can order the order the correct amount of food :-)
