****October 15 (****1.30 pm – 4 pm) +
November 5 (1.30 pm – 4 pm)
What if Malmö had a place where students and professionals could gather, learn from each other and together imagine the future?
Join us for a series of two workshops where students and professionals work side by side to imagine, test and shape a new concept for how the future can become a shared meeting place.
The insights gathered in this workshop will inform a concept brief that designers and organisers can build from. Our aim is a physical meeting place or object that supports collaboration and futures-capacity building.
Together we will ask: What could a concept that uses the future as a meeting place look and feel like if it genuinely supported cross-pollination between students and professionals?
The workshops will be facilitated by Jess Haynie-Lavelle (Malmö University's center for Imagining and Co-creating Futures, with Reeta Hafner from Media Evolution. We are looking for 10 students and 10 professionals to take part.
Context
Media Evolution is, together with Minc and Game Habitat, expanding its place at Isbergs gata 2. In parallel, a Futures Lab is being developed with Malmö University and others. This workshop series contributes to that development by exploring how students and professionals can use the future as a common ground for learning, collaboration and action.
The workshops are part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen the connection between Malmö’s academic research and its professional landscape by making knowledge more visible, relevant, and shared. The work is funded by Region Skåne.
