What can satellites tell us about the cities we design?
Urban environments are often shaped by what we see on the ground, but new space-based technologies are changing how we understand green infrastructure, climate challenges, and the role of landscape in our cities.
VentureLab@SLU invites you to an inspiring afternoon exploring how data from above is transforming urban development, together with Green Urban Insights, a startup using satellite data and AI to map urban trees, monitor their health, and support smarter planning decisions.
Key topics to be explored:
• Hidden challenges in today’s cities
• How space tech is used in practice
• What this means for the future of landscape design
Whether you are interested in landscapes, cities, sustainability, or new ways of working with data, this event is for you.
Guest speaker:
Green Urbansights is a startup based in Lund rethinking how cities understand and manage their trees using data from space. Their moto is: "Turning s**********atellite data into urban well-being"*****.***
The event is conducted within the framework of VentureLab@SLU’s activities and aims to stimulate reflection and contribute to an in-depth discussion on the future development of urban landscapes.
