Building a Platform, Not a Tool Collection

Summary
Platform Engineering promises to accelerate development teams through self-service, but the journey is challenging. In this session, I'll share my experience building an internal platform at my company, where we're in the early stages of identifying stakeholder needs to determine what should be standardized versus local team decisions. The biggest challenges weren't technical—they were stakeholder engagement, feedback collection, and shifting from "providing tools" to "enabling self-service."

Beyond Automation: How AI is Reshaping DevOps

Summary
AI is only as good as the context you give it. In this session we'll dive into GitHub Copilot customizations (instructions, prompts, agents, skills, and hooks) that shape how the agent reasons and acts in your workspace, and we'll see them in action. We'll explore spec-driven development and community skills like ponytail, caveman mode, and andrej-karpathy-skills. Along the way you'll learn how tokens are billed and how to reduce them using these skills.
