About this event

Join this Masterclass and learn a structured approach to bring your research into market

You've done the research, and you think it could matter outside the lab. But how do you actually get it there?

This is the gap that a lot of great research doesn’t cross. Sure, the science behind your project / product is great! But then, the path from a working prototype to a working business has its own rules.

This hands-on 4-hour workshop gives a practical 5-step approach for bringing research into the real world. It's built specifically for a deep-tech and research context (think long timelines, regulated buyers, complex procurement, early-stage uncertainty), not for the consumer-app playbook you'll find in most online-startup content.

Each of the five step combines a short input with a hands-on exercise. You can apply each of these to your own project, or to a prepared case study if you'd rather not share your idea in the room.

By the end of the workshop, you will:

  • Understand what "go-to-market" means for research and deep-tech, and how it differs from consumer startups
  • Know how to map your market and competitors without drowning in data
  • Be able to identify your most promising first customers
  • Have a draft value proposition for your own project (or a case study)
  • Know how to plan a realistic launch and avoid common pitfalls
  • Have a shortlist of traction channels to test next, mapped to the customer journey
  • Know which early-stage metrics are worth your attention
  • Understand why product-market fit alone isn't enough, and what else you need

Of course, you don’t need a business background to attend. The workshop is built for a mixed audience across faculties, with examples drawn from engineering, software, and similar tech contexts. You're welcome whether you already have a specific project in mind, or you're just checking if this path is for you.
