About this event

Join FinTech Wales at Cardiff Met for breakfast networking, new connections, insights into technology, skills and industry collaboration.

Cardiff Metropolitan University is a leading modern university offering education and research across creative industries, sport, health, education, technology, social and life sciences, and business. Drawing on more than 150 years of commitment to education, the university is focused on student success and using learning, research and collaboration as a force for good across the Cardiff Capital Region and beyond.

The event will be hosted by the Cardiff School of Technologies, which recently joined FinTech Wales as a member. The School takes an industry-engaged approach to collaboration and innovation, working closely with employers to develop industry-relevant education, deliver applied research and build the skills required by the future fintech workforce.

Its areas of expertise include data, cybersecurity, software, artificial intelligence and digital technologies. Through employer partnerships, research collaborations and graduate pipelines, the School supports organisations in addressing practical challenges while connecting them with new ideas, skills and emerging talent.

This informal breakfast event will provide an opportunity to meet professionals from across the FinTech Wales community, strengthen existing relationships and explore potential partnerships between industry and academia.

The event is suitable for fintech and financial services businesses, technology companies, employers interested in skills and graduate recruitment, academic and research partners, and professionals working across data, cyber, AI, software and digital innovation.

Professor Jon Platts, Dean of Cardiff Met’s School of Technologies, said: “Emerging tech is reshaping finance and we’re ready to bring our research, talent and ideas to a community driving meaningful innovation across the sector.
