From Code to Impact - 5 Years of 42 Germany
About this event
We’re celebrating 5 years of 42 in Germany: 5 years of code, community, collaboration, and impact.
5 Years of 42 in Germany: From Code to Industry Impact
Five years ago, 42 Wolfsburg and 42 Berlin opened with a simple bet: that people can teach each other to code—no tuition, no professors, no lectures, and no academic prerequisites. Entrance was based purely on potential during our 4-week selection sprint, the "Piscine."
Five years on, the proof of this peer-to-peer model is in the real-world results:
- Proven Career Outcomes: Today, over 900 active students learn across our campuses in Wolfsburg and Berlin, while more than 400 alumni drive the tech ecosystem. 3 out of 4 graduates land tech roles within 12 months—spanning Software Engineering, AI, Cloud, Embedded Automotive, DevOps, and Consulting.
- Redefining Tech Diversity: While conventional German computer science programs struggle to cross 20% female representation, our campuses actively shift the baseline—increasing our combined FLINTA student ratio from 24% (2022) to 31%.
- Global Talent, Local Growth: 65% international talent learns alongside 35% German students. Over 78% of our graduates stay to build their careers in Germany (19% in Lower Saxony), fueling regional innovation hubs.
- An Active Industry Ecosystem: 42 is more than a coding school—it is a collaborative innovation platform powered by founding and corporate partners like Volkswagen Group, CARIAD, SAP, Bayer, T-Systems, and Lufthansa Industry Solutions, featuring over 200 annual hands-on tech touchpoints and an AI-first curriculum.
This August, we are celebrating five years of code, community, and innovation with an Anniversary Summerfest at 42 Wolfsburg.
This evening is dedicated to the students who took the leap, the corporate partners who backed us, and the supporters who made it all possible. And for everyone joining us for the next five years.
Event Program
