Hello 50:50 World in Zurich: Who Gets to Play?
About this event
Hello 50:50 World November Meetup with Networking & Gaming
Almost half (48%) of all gamers are women, and the average player is 41 [ESA]. Yet many games seem to cater to a very narrow demographic: young, male, straight and able-bodied.
While the gaming industry is slowly adapting to its diverse audience, with more studios introducing diverse leads (e.g. The Witcher 4 or The Last of Us) and taking people with disabilities into account when designing and releasing games, many gamers still encounter online hate, harassment and exclusion.
So we'd like to invite you to share your experience and thoughts on gaming: what you love about it, what you'd like to change and what would make it a more inclusive experience for you.
There will be no speaker and no slides. The evening is about your experiences and ideas, sharing and learning from each other. The event also includes a tour around the museum and we'll have some time to network and play.
Together, we’ll explore questions such as:
- When did you last feel truly welcome in a game or gaming space?
- What keeps you from playing the games you love?
- Who do you see in games, and who is missing?
- What can players, studios and platforms do to make gaming more welcoming?
Who is it for
Everyone. You don't need to be a gamer or know anything about the industry. Whether you play every day, play a little or have never felt welcome in gaming, your view is wanted.
