Emotional First Aid
The Burning Wheel of Change
Our Society has more and more mental health problems, and misinformation about the topic is rampant online. 1 in 6 German adults is going through Depression at one point of their lives. But how do you know at which point you are having a regular bad time vs you are depressed? What even is a mental illness? Does Meditation or Self-Help actually work? How do people change their minds? (no accidental activism, trust) This talk establishes a foundation to explore mental health without falling for misinformation online. We look at how to spot and analyse mental health problems, develop solutions and execute them. And the many problems each of those steps can encounter.

About Jan
Jan is a Web- and Application Developer, graduate from Le Wagon currently working at givve. He seeks out high paced enviroments, his interests lie in database design and code architecture - currently at least. His knowledge about mental health and psychology stems from his own background (diagnosed adhd), his deep passion for game design and his background in teaching. Jan takes care no one on a team is left behind. Sometimes that means helping students grapple with maths, sometimes it means seeing that it isn't maths they're struggling with. Jan is a top-tier dungeon master, as far as I know, and will persuade you to join a gamenight given the slightest opportunity. He likes red but is open to other colors too.
