About this event

We’re building momentum.

Another meetup. Another chance to get hands-on. And we’re already lining up what comes next.

Performance testing isn’t what it used to be.

Systems are more distributed. Traffic is less predictable.

And with AI increasingly shaping how applications behave, the way performance issues surface is shifting too.

This time, we’re digging into what that means in practice.

As usual with MCR.TEST evenings, this won’t be a slide-heavy session.
We’re building the night around interactive, hands-on challenges designed to simulate real-world pressure, because performance isn’t something you understand from slides… it’s something you feel when systems start to struggle.
Expect fast thinking, collaboration, and a bit of chaos.

AGENDA

Part 1
🎮 Surviving the Surge: Performance Under Pressure
We kick things off with something a little different.
A retro, Black Friday style simulation where you’re responsible for keeping a high-traffic system alive under extreme load.
Requests will spike. Systems will strain.
And you’ll need to make decisions fast.
Using key observability signals: latency, error rates, and overall system health, you’ll work to stabilise the system and prevent failure in real time.
This is about experiencing performance problems as they happen.
Because when things go wrong in production, there’s no pause button.

We’ll then break for some FOOD and a chance to chat 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕

Part 2
🚀 From Load Testing… to Intelligent Performance Engineering
In the second half, we shift gears.
Performance testing has traditionally been about scripting scenarios and generating load. But that approach is starting to evolve.
We’ll explore how AI can support performance testing in more meaningful ways.
Using tools like k6, we’ll experiment with how AI can help:

  • Design more realistic and adaptive load scenarios
  • Scale tests more intelligently
  • Interpret results faster and surface meaningful insights

This isn’t about replacing testers.
It’s about extending what we’re capable of.
Expect live exploration, shared ideas, and practical takeaways you can apply straight away.

Because performance testing isn’t just about handling traffic anymore.
It’s about understanding complex, evolving systems
and learning how to test them in smarter ways.
