• 20:20 - Python Mobile App Development: Bringing PySide6 on iOS // Ece Cinüçen
This talk starts with a short introduction to Qt and Qt for Python (PySide), then moves on to PySide6's newest platform: iOS, shipping in Qt 6.12. I'll cover the challenges, such as iOS not allowing dynamic code loading, which is exactly what Python's extension modules depend on, and where we ended up: a tool that turns your PySide6 app into an Xcode project, deployable on iOS. I'll demo a PySide6 app running on device.

Speaker's bio:
I build Qt for Python (PySide) at The Qt Company, the bindings that let you write Qt apps in Python instead of C++. I'm from Izmir, Turkey, and have been at Qt since 2024. This year I worked on bringing PySide6 to iOS, so you can now run PySide6 apps on iOS devices. It ships with the new Qt 6.12.
