Python Discovery Week for the Queers: Free Beginner Coding at 42 Berlin
July 20โ27, 2026 | In person | Beginner friendly
From 20 to 27 July, 42 Berlin is hosting a Queer Python Discovery Week: seven days of learning to code from the ground up, just for queer, trans and non-binary people, in a room where you don't have to explain or justify yourself to anyone.
It's built for beginners. If you've never opened a code editor, you're exactly who this is for. If you've already poked around a bit, there's room to push further.
The week runs straight through Berlin Pride Week. CSD falls on Saturday 25 July, so you'll spend the days coding and the weekend in the streets.

There are no lectures to fall behind in. You learn by doing: hands-on exercises, self-guided exploration, and small projects you build alongside the people next to you. Mentors are there when you're stuck. Everyone else is working it out too.
Each day opens with a 10:00 stand-up to set the tone and sort out what you're tackling. After that the room is yours. Write code, break it, ask the obvious question, get it working. The space stays open around the clock, so you can push on late or come back fresh. There's no single right way to do the week.
By Monday 27 July you'll have the basics of Python down and a small project of your own to show for it.
