About this event

Talk;

A few weeks ago, at the start of my job search, I decided the most useful thing I could do was build something rather than update my CV! Since then I've shipped two real applications (and 1 in development) with Claude Code including a job-search tool that's now serving as a learning exercise, something tangible I can point at, and an actual working part of my job search.

I started with the process I assumed I was supposed to have: a proper Azure DevOps backlog, a board, pull requests, infrastructure as code. Most of it didn't survive the week! This raises genuinely interesting questions about how teams will work with AI and how we will adapt our workflows to match this change in capability.

On the job-search side, AI's given me a genuinely useful, impartial read on how my CV matches a role, cost me an unreasonable amount of money to research one company, and it's also the thing I've deliberately kept out of the loop when it comes to actually deciding what roles to apply for.

This is a practitioner's account, not a highlight reel - what's worked, what's fallen apart, and what I still haven't resolved.
TL;DR Currently job hunting, Graham has shipped two real applications with Claude Code in a matter of weeks, with a third in development, while using AI throughout his own job search at the same time. An honest, practitioner's account of what's worked, what's fallen apart, and what he still hasn't figured out.
