This initiative is a collaborative effort between Linux Belgium and Mind, focusing on the pressing need for organizations to adapt to rising licensing costs and avoid vendor lock-in through effective use of open-source technologies. The event will take place at the Odisee co-hogeschool - Technologiecampus Gent, located in Ghent, Belgium.
Attendees will benefit from a comprehensive program featuring key industry speakers. Emiliano D'Agostino, the CEO of Mind, will kick off the event with a welcome address. Following this, Jasper Nuyens, the CEO of Linux Belgium, will lead a session on VMware to Proxmox migration along with a live demonstration of Proxmox. Wannes Smet, a System Administrator at ICSense, will share a real-world case study detailing the migration process from VMware to Proxmox utilizing a Ceph storage backend. The event promises to deliver insights into practical migration paths, lessons learned from customer experiences, and a pragmatic methodology demonstrated through proof of concepts (POCs).
