WAVE Italy 2026

Join WAVE Italy 2026 on Nov 10! Discover subsea tech powering AI & global data, connect with top subsea experts, & launch your career.

WAVE is a global symposium series hosted by the SubOptic Foundation, designed to inspire, educate, and connect students and early-career professionals with the world of submarine cable technology.

The Cloud Is Not In The Sky. It Is In The Ocean.

99% of global data travels through a hidden subsea network. Most people believe our digital world is powered by satellites. The reality is far more complex and more exciting. It lives on the ocean floor.

The SubOptic Foundation and Nokia invite you to an immersion into the digital backbone of the Mediterranean. Step out of the classroom and into the industry building the AI revolution. Every message, video, cloud application, and AI model relies on infrastructure hidden beneath the ocean. The next generation of innovators building it could be sitting in this room.

Why Attend?

The primary goal of WAVE Italy is to showcase the entire subsea ecosystem, the technologies behind it, and the wide range of career opportunities available across the industry. Attendees will leave the event understanding not only how the subsea industry works, but also where they could fit within it.

At this one-day event, you will:

• Discover the Big Picture: Explore how a hidden ocean network powers the global economy and enables daily digital experiences.
• Understand the Tech Journey: Learn how data travels across the globe through five distinct stages—Design, Build, Deploy, Transmit, Operate, and Enable—with technical insights from Prysmian, Nokia, Sparkle, and Retelit.
• Explore AI & Cloud Integration: Hear from Microsoft on why hyperscale cloud infrastructure and AI applications depend on subsea data flows.
• Explore Next-Gen Careers: Gain career advice, engage in dedicated speed-dating and networking with HR leaders and technical experts, and tour cutting-edge innovation labs.
