Cloud & DevOps Events in Lisbon

Cloud infrastructure and operations events in Europe split between the big annual anchors (KubeCon + CloudNativeCon EU, DevOpsDays in a dozen cities, AWS re:Invent viewing parties, HashiConf) and the monthly community rhythm of Kubernetes user groups, Cloud Native meetups, and platform-engineering guild nights. This page tracks both.

This page narrows the Lisbon calendar to Cloud & DevOps events. It's a subset of Portugal's wider tech-event schedule, useful when you want something specific to go to in the city this month.

Lisbon's tech-event calendar has grown fast. Web Summit each November anchors the year and pulls an enormous international founder-and-investor crowd into the city. In between, there's a dense week-by-week rhythm of meetups covering AI-applied, software engineering, product, design, and the startup ecosystem that continues to expand with remote-first teams relocating here.

#26 Cloud Native Lisbon x #2 LeadDev | K8s, Cloud Ops & Eng Leadership

Lisbon, πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Ή Portugal

Cloud Native Lisbon is back β€” and this time we're teaming up with LeadDev Lisbon.

Two communities, one evening, three talks that bridge the gap between the platform and the people running it. Because cloud-native isn't just about the tech β€” it's about the engineers, the leaders, and the decisions made under real-world pressure.

πŸ“ May 21st, 2026 πŸ•‘ 18:30 πŸ“Œ Sky Offices, Lisbon

A huge thank you to Sky for hosting us, and to synvert xgeeks and Remote Crew for sponsoring this edition and making it possible. πŸ™

πŸ“… Agenda

18:30 β€” Check-in & Networking

19:00 β€” Opening & Community Intro Cloud
Native Lisbon, LeadDev Lisbon & Partners

19:15 β€” 🎀 Releases, Enhancements, Deprecations: The Kubernetes Way Frederico MuΓ±oz β€” Kubernetes Release Team Co-Lead | Cloud and Architecture Lead @ SAS | CNCF Ambassador
Every year, 3 new Kubernetes releases are announced. This rhythm has been a sign of vitality (not without its challenges) β€” but how does it actually happen? Frederico takes us inside the Kubernetes release process: how it's organised, how it evolved to its current state, and the short-term challenges the community is tackling. With the recently announced Kubernetes 1.36 "Haru" as the backdrop, we'll cover Code Freezes, Feature Blogs, Enhancement Freezes, alpha and beta cuts β€” the process, the community, and the terminology.

19:50 β€” ⚑ Lightning Talk (7 min) β€” Beyond Code: The Influence Multiplier Daniel Olavio β€” Head of Engineering @ UBIO
You've reached senior level. You ship quality code. You solve hard problems. And then you hit a ceiling β€” one you can't break through alone. The engineers who break through aren't necessarily the ones who become managers. They're the ones who learn to influence. Daniel walks through how to build that skill: earning trust beyond your immediate work, getting people excited about the problems you see, and expanding your impact across an entire organization.

20:00 β€” 🎀 Running Cloud Systems Under Real Constraints Cristiano Motta β€” Engineering Manager @ Sky (Global Streaming Technology, Metadata & Syndication)
Operating cloud systems in production is less about ideal architectures and more about leadership under pressure. Cristiano explores how engineering leaders navigate the real constraints β€” reliability, cost, ownership, and change β€” and how communication and team culture make the difference when systems are already critical.

20:35 β€” πŸ• Pizza, Drinks & Networking Stay for great conversations, new connections, and a cold one.

#2 LeadDev Lisbon x #26 Cloud Native Lisbon - Eng. Leadership Meets Cloud Native

Lisbon, πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Ή Portugal

LeadDev Lisbon is back for Round 2... and we're going cloud-native.

After the launch, we promised to keep bringing engineering leaders together around the conversations that actually matter. This time, we're joining forces with Cloud Native Lisbon for an evening where leadership, influence, and the realities of running cloud systems sit side by side.

Three talks. Three practitioners. One night to sharpen how you lead.. and how you build.

Frederico Munoz β€” Kubernetes Release Team Co-Lead | Cloud and Architecture Lead @ SAS | CNCF Ambassador

Three Kubernetes releases land every year. That cadence is a sign of vitality β€” but how is it actually orchestrated? Frederico gives us an inside view of the Kubernetes release process: how it's organised, how it evolved, and the short-term challenges the community is tackling. With Kubernetes 1.36 "Haru" as the backdrop, expect a deep dive into Code Freezes, Feature Blogs, Enhancement Freezes, alpha and beta cuts β€” the process, the community, and the terminology that runs the world's most important orchestrator.

19:50 β€” ⚑️ Lightning Talk - Beyond Code: The Influence Multiplier
Daniel Olavio β€” Head of Engineering @ UBIO

You're a strong senior engineer. You ship quality code. You solve hard problems. And then you hit something unexpected: a ceiling you can't break through alone. The engineers around you aren't naturally aligned with your vision. You see opportunities across your team or org β€” but you don't have the authority to make them happen. That ceiling isn't a dead end. It's an inflection point. Daniel walks through how to start building the skill that breaks the ceiling: earning trust and credibility beyond your immediate work, getting people excited about the problems you see, and expanding your influence across the whole organization. This is how you actually grow.
