Hacker & Maker Events in Glasgow
This is the culture-heavy corner of the European tech event calendar: hackerspaces, community congresses, outdoor hacker camps, and the maker-faire circuit. It traces a lineage back to the Chaos Computer Club and has grown into one of Europe's most distinctive community-event traditions. Equivalents exist elsewhere in the world, but few are as long-running or as well-attended as the European ones.
This page narrows the Glasgow calendar to Hacker & Maker events. It's a subset of United Kingdom's wider tech-event schedule, useful when you want something specific to go to in the city this month.

2600 Glasgow - Informal hacker/infosec/computer security meetup
Glasgow, 🇬🇧 United Kingdom
The monthly 2600 Glasgow meeting. Glasgow 2600 meetings are similar to those held around the world. Hackers, crackers, geeks, hats of any colour, technology enthusiasts, hacktivists, and other like-minded folks are most welcome. We do not judge anyone and everyone has something to contribute, no matter their level of expertise.
Runs from 6pm 'til late, so feel free to drop in later in the evening.
Unless specified, there are no particular topics or activities set for these meetings, and each one of us is responsible for making them interesting, whether in the form of intelligent discussions or exchange of knowledge. Anything goes.
We're in our new purpose built venue this month. The Gamer Club on Bath Lane. It has it's very own hacker corner with books, articles and infosec paraphernalia. Check out https://www.thegamerclub.co.uk/gettinghere if you need help finding us.
The venue has free tea and coffee and is also Bring-Your-Own-Bottle. So feel free to arrive with a few beers or a bottle of wine and enjoy the comfy surroundings.
We have a Matrix chat (decentralised open source Discord-like) for the group; invite link: https://glasgow.social/matrix (then search for 2600)
