We're planning the next Hackergarten Zurich 🥳 We're looking forward to see some familiar faces and share knowledge within the open-source community. Spread the word — everyone is welcome! Bring your project, a bug, a feature, a question... or just your time and enthusiasm 💜 As always there will be free drinks, beer and pizza, sponsored by Quatico.

As usual we briefly present the open-source projects we'd like to work on, break up into groups and try to make an actual contribution. We offer free pizza, beverages and depending on weather conditions a great view on Zurich West from the rooftop terrace.

Bring a symbol that means something to you and turn it into a layered wooden piece, painted and assembled by hand.

Bring a symbol that means something to you and turn it into something you can make with your hands.

It could be the crest of your favourite football, rugby or GAA team, your family crest, a club emblem, a badge or simply a symbol you like.

Before the workshop, send us an image of what you would like to make. We’ll prepare the design and laser cut all the wooden pieces in our studio, so when you arrive everything is ready for you.

Then it’s your turn.

You’ll choose your colours, paint the different pieces and put everything together layer by layer.

While we make, we’ll also show you how we took your image and turned it into something physical using digital design and laser cutting.

You don’t need to know anything about laser cutting or design before coming. We prepare the technical part so you can enjoy making the piece.

If you’re not sure what you want to make, we’ll also have some designs in the studio for you to choose from.

All materials, paints and tools are included.

At the end, you’ll take home your own wooden emblem, made by you and ready to hang, display or give to someone.

Send us your image or reference at least 48 hours before the workshop, so we have enough time to prepare your pieces.

Technē Makers is a creative practice and digital fabrication studio in Dublin.

Our workshops are a chance to spend some time making with your hands, explore materials, try something new and discover different ways of turning ideas into physical things.

Technology is part of the process, but it’s only a tool.

Technē lives in the space between thinking and doing.

Kom langs met problemen en vragen over je WordPress website of om anderen te helpen. Beter nog, allebei!
Samen proberen we tot oplossingen te komen of elkaar in de juiste richting te wijzen.

• Heb je vragen over je website? Neem bij voorkeur je laptop en de benodigde inloggegevens mee.
• We zitten in het MAAKpunt van Stadkamer Centrum, geopend van 18:45 tot 20:55.
• Stadkamer Centrum is geopend van 09:00 tot 21:00. Consumpties zijn niet inbegrepen; deze kun je eventueel zelf halen bij de horeca.
• Na afloop doen we vaak nog een drankje in de binnenstad (op loopafstand), voor wie wil.

Join us for a day of coworking at Society1 in Preston. Get out of the house, get some work done and connect with likeminded people.

Preston Tech Connection Coworking Day

This is a regular meet up for anyone working in or connected with tech. It is a really friendly and welcoming day aimed to provide the opportunity to meet and connect with other likeminded people working in a similar way.

Are you new to tech and would like to talk to others with experience?

Are you looking to work with businesses in the area and would like to connect with the local community?

These are all good reasons to come and join us.

Our coworking day starts from 9am, but you can arrive at your leisure from this time. Our team will be on hand to check you in and set you up for the day to work.

Mid morning around 10am we will host a coffee social in the ground floor social space. This will provide an opportunity to meet other people with similar experiences. It is super relaxed there are no round the room intros and you don't have to present anything to the group.

About Preston Tech Connection

Preston Tech Connection is a group centred around an interest in digital technologies - our events and meet-ups are a place where tech enthusiasts can come together, exchange ideas, work on projects, and support one another. We currently host a monthly evening meet-up with a speaker and discussion topic, plus a monthly coworking day at Society1.

Preston Tech Connection is founded by Tom Crawley Neon Mountain and Catarina and Brendan King, Society1. We host monthly meet-ups.

Our events cover topics like software, programming, hardware and emerging tech. We have a shared interest in the latest advancements in the digital realm.

We are an inclusive group and open for anyone to attend. You don't need to work in tech. If you are interested in the topics or just want to come and be part of a friendly community of people exploring the digital and tech world, you are welcome.

Getting there:

Society1 is located on Cross Street, just off Winckley Square (PR1 3LT). It is easily accessible by bus and train.

If you need to drive, public parking is available at Fishergate Shopping Centre or Avenham Public Car Park. The Avenham multi storey car park closes at 8pm, so as this event runs later we advise that you park in the open air one or on the streets around us.

Bring your broken tech and trinkets to get them fixed by the skilled volunteers at TOG Hackerspace!

In 2026, we have partnered with the fantastic makers and fixers over at TOG to bring a series of community Repair Cafes to various locations across Dublin. On Saturday, the 11th of April, between 12 and 4pm, TOG Hackerspace will host the second café of the year!

At this event, the skilled volunteers at TOG will share their expertise and passion for repair, helping you fix your broken items and breathe new life into them. Whether it’s a malfunctioning gadget, a piece of clothing in need of mending, or a household item that’s seen better days, bring it along and let the TOG team work their magic.

What can you bring in?

• Clothes and accessories
• Toys
• Small electrical appliances and electronics
• Small furniture

.... And many other things!

Safety testing (PAT) for electrical devices will be available.

What happens at a repair cafe?

At the Repair Café, you can learn how to repair the item yourself, or watch and learn from the fantastic volunteers while enjoying a tea or coffee. TOG members will also be on hand to give you a tour while you wait!

Repair Cafés are a great way to support a circular economy, reduce waste, and extend the life of your belongings.

Meld je aan voor onze volgende WordPress Meetup in Utrecht op dinsdag 20 oktober 2026. Zoals gebruikelijk zijn we weer welkom bij Wonders of Work, onze locatiesponsor. We beginnen om 19:30 uur (zaal open vanaf 19:00).

Programma
We beginnen de avond met een talk van Niels de Blaauw. Hij is technisch directeur en Managing Partner bij Level Level, digitaal WordPress-bureau gevestigd in Rotterdam. Zijn expertise ligt in het leiden van de technische richting en het bevorderen van digitale toegankelijkheid in alle projecten bij Level Level.

Niels komt praten over de doelgroep van je website: mensen. Weet je nog toen alles een Single Page Application (SPA) móést worden? Of toen headless de beloofde verlossing was voor elk contentprobleem? We herontdekken keer op keer het wiel, terwijl we één ding vergeten: de browser en je eindgebruiker veranderen helemaal niet zo snel. De waarde die ontstaat wanneer we iets maken dat de behoefte van de gebruiker vervult op een manier die robuust en bruikbaar is, is niet afhankelijk van techniek. Sterker nog, de ‘oude’ technieken waar het web op gebouwd is, blijken vaak de meest toekomstbestendige keuzes te zijn.

Deze meetup ga je ook zelf aan het werk! Want in het tweede deel kun je jouw vragen en kennis kwijt in het Repair Café. Neem dus je laptop mee en vertel waar je in vastloopt. En denk je dat je wat meer weet van WordPress? Laat maar zien en kom helpen!
