Nos vies reposent sur des ressources qu’on ne voit jamais : le coltan de nos téléphones, l’eau qui coule au robinet, le sol sous nos pieds. Pourtant l’extraction et l’utilisation de ces ressources est à l’origine de terribles inégalités et de destructions de l’environnement. Du 3 au 8 novembre la Semaine Climat du 1er arrondissement met cette question au cœur du débat : comment imaginer un rapport plus équilibré aux ressources naturelles, tenant compte de leur finitude et de l’équité ?

La journée du samedi 7 novembre est dédiée aux ateliers participatifs !

Un appareil en panne ? Avant de le jeter, venez tenter de le réparer ! Avec l'Atelier Soudé, cet atelier participatif propose d'apprendre les bases du diagnostic et de la réparation électronique, pour allonger la durée de vie de nos objets et limiter le gaspillage de ressources. Tout public, dès 14 ans.

See the Space Tour: Hope you completed the mandatory 'See the Space' tour already at Makespace in person and received the ‘code’ to sign up for the induction. If you do not remember the code, please state when you did the tour and who offered it. We will try to confirm.

There are a few steps you can take to make the most of the induction.
1) Make your payment on the morning of your induction. Memberships are an initial 3 month minimum. You will receive a private link to set up your payment via email/event chat.
2) Have 2 forms of ID ready to bring with you. One from each of these lists:

Government issued photo IDs : Current, valid full passport, photo-card driving licence, Armed Forces ID Card, Residence permit showing your full name and current address.

Address verification: Household utility bill,Bank, building society or credit card statement, Local authority tax bill, HM Revenue & Customs tax document. Screen shots are fine for the proof of address.

3) Start filling in your membership form by visiting here:
https://web.makespace.org/induction-form/ and clicking on the link to the induction form.
The form will ask for your name/address and to read the membership agreements. Please, complete that form until you reach a point where it tells you to stop and wait for the inductor.
You will require a Google account to complete the induction form at your induction.
4) Arrive before the induction start time at Makespace. At the door, you will be asked if you have completed the above steps.
You will reopen the induction form you started at home. When you log in with the same information all your data will be there.
The inductor will check your ID. Then there will be:

1. A short talk about how Makespace works (you can preview the presentation here)
2. An introduction to the equipment and training system. (have a look: https://equipment.makespace.org)
3. A safety tour of the workshops.

We will ask you to subscribe to the cammakespace Google Group (https://groups.google.com/g/cammakespace) for announcements and discussions.

Lastly you will be given your membership number so you can access training.

Our aim is to have all the administration finished within the 2 hours at which time you can join the other members in the workshops or start the online portion of your equipment training.

PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE LATE. We will not admit after the stated meeting start time!

The Saturday after the monthly members meeting of each month is our Cleanup Day. It's a chance for our members to come together to help make Splat Space more organized. Whether it's sorting bolts, vacuuming the carpets, removing scrap or re-arranging the space, anything that helps to make the space more open and organized is appreciated.

We are inviting thoughtful, creative humans (like you!) in Berlin and beyond to come together for the next three months both on- and off- line to learn, play, think, and create together. Come explore art, tech, design, political inquiry and human connection on zoom, or in our makerspace, and studio on the top floor of the historic ACUD Kunsthaus, the last surviving independent art and culture space from the 1990 reunification era in Berlin-Mitte.

This is the program we’ve been dreaming of for years! We’re opening our doors and inviting creative emerging artists, humans with innovative and intelligent minds, and anyone who is curious to come explore new topics, develop and expand your practice, and learn and teach things you’ve only dreamed of learning and teaching, as you wrestle out the courage to begin something new.

We’ll support you in these endeavors while encouraging introspection, curiosity, hands-on exploration, and the enthusiasm and confidence to say something with your work. No prior tech experience necessary.

This is an open-ended program, more of an indoor winter camp for adults interested in exploration and creative life changes. Some afternoons there'll be a handful of people quietly (or not so quietly) working on projects; on potluck nights and some eves, the space may be fully alive. Come as often as you can!

• Our studio and makerspace located at ACUD in Berlin, Mitte, will be open on weekdays from 13:00 to 20:00 and on weekends from 10:00 to 20:00. On special event nights, we'll stay open until 23:00 (all times are Berlin time)
• Opportunities to run a talk, workshop or mini-class on something you know
• Weekly community potlucks
• Classrooms you can reserve for knowledge exchange
• Onsite materials and tools: 3D printers, electronics, hand tools, a sewing machine, cameras, recorders and more
• Mentorship and support

• The ability to schedule talks, workshops and other events on Zoom
• An online forum for exchanging ideas, sharing knowledge, and group discussions
• A mentor, assigned once the program begins, available for one-on-one check-ins if you feel stuck
• If you're able to come to Berlin at some point during the three months, you can join in person at no extra cost

• Opportunities to exhibit your work IRL (see details below)
• Weekly prompts to inspire your creative output and lead you towards self-reflection and discovery, plus regular interactions with others doing the same
• Guest speakers on topics relating to art, technology, and society, with questions, interaction and discussion following, open to everyone in the program
• A dedicated online forum to share work and connect with the whole group

During this three-month program, participants will have the opportunity to showcase work in two key moments:

• 6. December: A visual showcase in collaboration with Berlin School of Sound taking place at Studio dB Berlin.
• January 2027: A group exhibition in our Make-Believe Studio during transmediale Vorspiel (end of month, date tbd)

We are offering a limited number of reduced fee solidarity tickets for this program for those facing financial hardships. These allow participants to pay a reduced fee and are reserved for women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ who otherwise would be unable to attend.

Each Monday evening visitors are welcome to come and see what the hackspace has to offer and to meet a few members.

Everyone (over 18) is welcome but please let us know you are planning to come. Under 18 year olds cannot be members unfortunately.

If you have recently joined then Monday evening is when you can come and get to know the space better, have inductions to equipment and settle in.

Norwich Hackspace full members have anytime-access to the Hackspace once they have been inducted, which takes a few weeks of attendance as we get to know you and vice-versa.

If you can't come on Mondays, please get in touch via email info@norwichhackspace.org or call 07946 261651 and we will arrange an introduction and a tour of the space at another time, subject to availability.

On Mondays, members bring their own projects to work on and can share knowledge and information, help another member or just get on with their own project. The rest of the time they pop in and out although sometimes members agree to meet and work together on a project at other times. Members also communicate with each other through a closed Slack group, a key member benefit (see www.slack.com).

For visitors, the first session is free.

If you have been before please sign up as a regular member at www.norwichhackspace.org. Subs are £15 a month and there is no minimum contract or membership period.

Do you like to make things? Would you like to use 3D software, lasercutter and 3D printing to help you make your idea?

TOG has an open evening to learn how CAD software and 3D fabrication tools can help you make your project.

All you need to take part is your own laptop and some ideas on what you want to make.

This is not a taught class, more like an informal working group of self-directed makers.

We will be happy to help you explore how to use our 3D tools in designing and making your project whether you are a crafter, designer, engineer or hobbyist.

Als Einführung zeigt glow in einem kurzen Vortrag sein Smartwatch Set-up auf. Anstatt sein Gadget über die üblichen Apps zu bespielen, nutzt er Termux um Informationen zu pushen und nach Belieben zu rendern.
Danach soll es auch diesmal wieder Zeit geben, für lightning Talks. Nach einer kurzen Pause wollen wir uns dem Thema dann in einer Diskussion weiter nähern.
Es handelt sich bei den Themenabenden um ein offenes Format, zu dem alle eingeladen sind.

Smartwatches, Fitness Armbänder oder Brillen mit eingebauter Kamera und KI - das alles geht unter Wearables, Technik eben, die man trägt.
Sie bieten faszinierende Möglichkeiten, die eigene Bewegung und Gesundheit nachzuverfolgen. Gleichzeitig sind sie aber dafür bekannt, Unmengen von sensiblen Daten an ihre jeweiligen Hersteller zu übermitteln. Nicht zuletzt deswegen gibt es aktive Communities, welche Firmware und Apps für bestehende Wearables hacken oder gleich ganz ersetzen. Dazu kommen Geräte von Herstellern, die in diesen Communities einen eigenen Markt gefunden haben und Geräte speziell für diesen entwerfen. Und schließlich besteht auch immer die Möglichkeit, selber ein Gerät zu bauen, das es so nicht zu kaufen gibt.
Diese große Breite an verfügbarer Hard- und Software inspiriert zu aller Art kreativer Nutzung und genau darum soll es an unserem Themenabend gehen.
Bring gerne deine eigenen Wearables-Projekte mit oder komm einfach vorbei, um mehr zu lernen und dich auszutauschen!

De Open Garage is een wekelijkse nerdvriendelijke café-avond in de makerspace/garage van Anthony Liekens.

Wekelijks zijn er een paar stamgasten present en ben je zeker ook welkom om eens te komen kijken of een ideetje of technisch probleem op informele manier aan de groep voor te stellen.

Breng iets mee om te drinken en share het in onze community koelkast. Maak-projectjes om over te brainstormen of aan te werken, en vriendjes zijn zeker ook welkom.

Minderjarigen zijn welkom, maar enkel onder begeleiding van een volwassene.
