Design & UX Events in Europe

Design events in Europe cluster around a few well-known anchors (UX Copenhagen, Config EU, Design Matters Copenhagen/Warsaw, UX London, UXLx Lisbon, uxcon Vienna, UXDX EMEA, Awwwards Conferences, Beyond Tellerrand, Pixel Pioneers, Hatch, Milan Design & UX Week), surrounded by a dense local meetup scene for product designers, UX researchers, design-systems practitioners, and the accessibility community. This page tracks both.

Coverage includes product and interaction design, UX research and usability testing, design systems (Figma variables, tokens, component governance), service design and behavioral design, accessibility (WCAG, inclusive design, screen-reader testing), content design, and the design-engineering hybrid role that has grown into its own community. The AI-meets-design crossover is particularly active right now: Figma AI jams, human-centered AI-design talks, and sessions on what AI tools change about the practice show up regularly on the calendar. You'll also find design-ops and team-leadership tracks for people running design practices, plus typography and brand-design events for folks whose work sits closer to that side of the discipline.

Geographically, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Stockholm, and Helsinki sustain the densest monthly meetup rhythm. Vienna, Warsaw, Brno, Barcelona, and Lisbon have fast-growing scenes, and the larger annual conferences rotate between these cities. Brainberg aggregates listings into a single chronological European view, so designers can see what's upcoming without subscribing to a dozen local lists.

I això no ho fa cap algorisme.

Agenda:

18:30 — Obertura de portes

19:00 — Taula rodona:

  • Iñaki Diaz Acedo, Co-founder i Creative Director, Appnormals
  • Maria Morras, professora titular d'Universitat de Literatura Espanyola a la Universitat Pompeu Fabra

Moderada per Daria Shornikova, Brand Storyteller & Communication Strategist

Properament anunciarem nous ponents.

20:00 — Networking

Bologna, 🇮🇹 Italy

Bologna Front End, Episodio 63:

📢 Gamification in pratica
Hai mai pensato a perché Duolingo riesce a farti tornare ogni giorno? O come mai certe app riescono a trasformare comportamenti noiosi in abitudini quasi automatiche?

19:00 - Q&A
19:15 - Chiusura

✅ Note
I riferimenti per la connessione all'evento verranno caricati qualche giorno prima dell'evento

Talk Design Systems by LBC Digital | 28º Festival CCP

Lisbon, 🇵🇹 Portugal

Lemos as notícias que marcam a atualidade. Estudamos. Procuramos emprego. Descobrimos novos relacionamentos amorosos.

t12t meetup - Global Accessibility Awareness Day at SEB

Solna, 🇸🇪 Sweden

It's Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) and as tradition has it, we're celebrating it with an extra big t12t meetup in Stockholm!

This time, we're hosted by SEB, in their super nice auditorium, wall-to-wall with Mall of Scandinavia in Solna.

Extra important this time

  1. You need to bring your ID-card, or you don't get in! We're hanging out inside the security doors of a bank, so they'll probably not make any exceptions.
  2. Doors open at 17:30. Talks begin 18:00. You will likely not be allowed in after 18:00, since their reception closes, so be on time!

Tonight's agenda
We'll be doing lightning talks, around 10 minutes by each speaker.

5 ways to get bosses on your side, from an accessibility lead perspective
Santino Mariano – UX and accessibility expert, Use It

Design system accessibility
Astrit Malsijaj and Joacim Magnusson from SEB:s design system team

Count on us! Accessibility KPI:s
Hampus Sethfors - a11y t-shirt collector, Axess Lab

A super interesting talk to be announced
Ola Grönlund, Accessibility manager SEB

Ecosystem thinking for accessibility transformation
Anna Stålberg, Global accessibility manager Handelsbanken
Shivani Singh, Chief accessibility officer Handelsbanken

Food:
We will be serving wraps and drinks. The wraps will be available in vegan, vegetarian and chicken options.

If you have any preferences when it comes to food or drinks let us know!
Email hampus@axesslab.com (or DM in meetup or on the t12t slack).

Accessibility:
All speakers will use a microphone. The venue has a ramp to get to the seats and stage.

Since it's an evening event, we may have to exit the building in another place than we entered, but we'll make sure that everyone gets information about this during the event and that it's wheelchair accessible.

We've added some photos of the venue to this meetup event page, so you can check it out beforehand.

We are aware that accessibility issues are diverse and there might be a problem that we are not aware of. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to Hampus Sethfors at hampus@axesslab.com (or DM in meetup or on the t12t slack) .

Photography:
It's ok to take photos of our speakers and the things we and they present on stage. But please ask before taking photos of other attendees.

Safety and inclusion:
We have a Code of Conduct that we expect everyone to follow.

Video:
We'll record the event and later publish it to t12t youtube channel 🎥 No live-stream this time.

Ashamed of the Prototype? Why We're Hiding JS Superpowers Behind Class Syntax - Jakub Brambor
Abstract:
For years, JavaScript developers have lived in the shadow of "class-based" languages, trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. We've embraced the class keyword as a security blanket, but are we sacrificing the language's true potential for the sake of gaining "architectural legitimacy"?
In this session, we will look past the syntax and dive into:

  • The Identity Crisis: Understanding "class envy" and why we feel the need to mask JavaScript's unique nature with patterns from other ecosystems.
  • The Mechanics Under the Hood: A look at how class is just a wrapper, and how its hidden complexity can lead to unnecessary coupling.
  • The OLOO Pattern: Analyzing the pros and cons of prototypal inheritance to understand OLOO a cleaner, more natural alternative that aligns with JavaScript's true DNA.
  • Why Classes Won: A pragmatic look at why we will continue to use classes despite their limitations.
  • Reclaiming the Superpower: How to practically reintroduce prototypal inheritance into our workflows and advocate for JS's native strengths to make our code more flexible.

QA's Secret Menu: How Tiny Code Tweaks Eliminate JS "Silent Killers" - Yuliia Nowakowska
Abstract:
We all know the feeling: you push a new feature, the UI looks flawless locally, but then a brittle E2E test fails, or QA bounces the ticket back a day later because of an obscure race condition.

From Barriers to Bridges: Improving Web Accessibility with WCAG - Daniel Tate
Abstract:
This presentation explores the importance of web accessibility and how inclusive design benefits everyone, not just users with disabilities. It introduces key principles such as perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness, and explains how these concepts shape accessible digital experiences. The session highlights common barriers users may face—ranging from visual and auditory impairments to cognitive and motor challenges—and demonstrates practical strategies to address them. We will also cover elements of WCAG and how this framework helps guide developers in making more accessible content.

The content integrity model with Rahel Anne Bailie

Speaker
Rahel Anne Bailie, independent Content Solutions Strategist

In this session, Rahel Anne Bailie introduces her Content Integrity Model, a new framework for content strategy that encompasses some of the important shifts we all need to understand for designing, managing, and scaling content today.

About the talk
The Content Integrity Model addresses the rapidly evolving needs of content in increasingly complex environments and is achieved through the interconnected dimensions of strategic direction, editorial practices, operational efficiency, all supported by a robust infrastructure. The model provides a new framework that considers content across these four interconnected dimensions. This framework helps organisations understand not only how content helps deliver strategic goals but also how editorial quality, operating models, and infrastructure work together to enable successful outcomes.

Join us to explore how the Content Integrity Model contributes to the overall ecosystem, and how these dimensions are intertwined. Approaching content integrity as a holistic system rather than a series of independent directions, organisations can build content environments that are more adaptable, more scalable, and better aligned with organisational goals.

The model shows the interconnectivity that serves end users while enhancing consumer value while enhancing organisational value and serving internal users. We will also look at the way search has changed and other fast-findability techniques so that internal teams can find content quickly, while strengthening discoverability through metadata and optimisation practices that help content perform at scale.

About Rahel
Rahel Anne Bailie is an independent Content Solutions Strategist. She brings with her a strong background in developing successful digital strategies, tackling the complexities of managing content for clients globally, with the aim of using content to deliver better user experiences. She introduced her content integrity model to address the rapidly evolving needs of content in increasingly complex environments. Rahel is a recognised thought leader; she was recently given the rare award of Honorary Professor at FH-Joanneum. She has been elected Fellow in two associations, having authored and contributed to several industry books, magazines, and academic journals. She presents at events worldwide and teaches in the Content Strategy Master’s Program in Austria. She publishes on Substack at content-seriously.com.
