How the evening runs (3 stages)

Stage 1 — Themed Networking

You vote on the night's themes through the registration form (Fundraising, HR, GTM, Product, Pricing, Hiring — whichever wins the room). We group you by background. Each group's representative shares the conversation's main takeaway on stage. Stage 2 — Pitches

5 curated startups present their idea for live feedback and investor introductions. After the event, we add them to our private founder database and route their application to the right investors inside the Ascent Valley network.

▶ WAT GAAN WIJ DOEN
We beginnen om 09.00 uur en dan krijg je een naamsticker en kun je rustig een lekker drankje gaan halen. Vaak beginnen hier al de gesprekken.
Hoe werkt het ♦Speednetwerken♦ in het kort: Zodra het speednetwerken begint dan krijgen de bezoekers een plaats aan de tafel tegenover een andere bezoeker. Jij gaat tussen 4 tot 6 minuten in gesprek met een andere leuke ondernemer. Na deze 4 / 6 minuten wissel je weer van gesprekspartner en dan gaat opnieuw de gesprekstijd weer in. Op deze manier leer je in korte tijd (en op leuke en originele wijze, daar zorgen wij voor) vele mede ondernemers kennen.
We starten dan de stopwatch en kun je een leuk gesprek beginnen met een andere ondernemer.
Ging de tijd iets te snel? Geen zorgen! Na afloop is er nog voldoende tijd om verder te netwerken en bijvoorbeeld een eerder speeddategesprek in alle rust te vervolgen.

▶ PITCHEN
Wil jij een dienst / product / evenement onder de aandacht brengen aan de groep deelnemers? Dat kan via een business pitch. Wij bieden een beperkt aantal ondernemers de mogelijkheid om een presentatie / pitch te geven van 1 minuut. Stuur even een bericht aan onno@oc070.nl indien je wilt pitchen of wanneer je meer informatie wenst hierover. Aan deze pitch zijn kosten verbonden (€ 12,50 incl btw) waarmee wij onze operationele kosten zoals de website en meetup.com van betalen. Je ontvangt achteraf netjes van ons een btw factuur.

How does the pitch go?

The event will be hosted by the Cardiff School of Technologies, which recently joined FinTech Wales as a member. The School takes an industry-engaged approach to collaboration and innovation, working closely with employers to develop industry-relevant education, deliver applied research and build the skills required by the future fintech workforce.

Its areas of expertise include data, cybersecurity, software, artificial intelligence and digital technologies. Through employer partnerships, research collaborations and graduate pipelines, the School supports organisations in addressing practical challenges while connecting them with new ideas, skills and emerging talent.

This informal breakfast event will provide an opportunity to meet professionals from across the FinTech Wales community, strengthen existing relationships and explore potential partnerships between industry and academia.

Blue Badge holders are exempt from parking charges. Please park in a designated accessible parking bay and clearly display a valid Blue Badge.

Blue Badge holders should also register their badge through Cardiff Metropolitan University’s self-service portal. Please note that parking attendants may carry out spot checks.
