Join us for our next session, where we get into design systems: how they get built, and what it actually takes to keep one alive. As for by the UX Eindhoven group chat!

We'll compare the tools we're each using to create and maintain a system, look at how AI tooling is changing the job (does a design system matter more now, or less?), and dig into the role a system plays inside a large company where hundreds of people depend on it.
Whether you maintain a system at work, inherited one nobody documented, or you're building your first, come along for an open, practical conversation with fellow designers and makers. Bring your setup, your war stories, and the bits that broke.

Before the Living Documentation Event opens its doors on 5 March 2027, we are bringing part of the program to the ICT Knowledge Hub.

With LDE still several months away, we want to offer enthusiasts an early preview of the Living Documentation Event. Consider this evening a low-stakes introduction to both the kinds of subjects you can expect at LDE and the people behind them.

Because this preview takes place well in advance, there is also real room for conversation. We invited our speakers to use this opportunity to experiment, try things out and further sharpen their stories. Your questions, perspectives and experiences can genuinely help them shape their sessions for the main stage, whether you join the discussion during the presentations themselves or continue the conversation afterwards over a drink.

You do not need to be an expert in Living Documentation or BDD. Curiosity and a willingness to join the conversation are enough.

So please: come get an early taste of the Living Documentation Event, meet some of the speakers long before the conference itself and spend an evening exchanging ideas with fellow software professionals. The following themes will be covered:

Three previews from the LDE programme

Robert Deckers – Model Based Gherkin: Bringing Structure and Consistency to Large-Scale BDD
Anyone who has worked with Gherkin will know the challenges of keeping terminology consistent across teams and over time. Robert will speak on a model-based approach that helps teams to write concise and valuable scenarios in a way that actually scales.

Rick Tracy – From Ticket Hell to Team Flow: Creating Actionable Documentation
Tickets are meant to help teams organise their work, but they can easily become fragmented records that provide little context or shared understanding. Rick will explore how to turn documentation into a driver of team flow, rather than the umpteenth administrative burden.

Kyra Hameleers – Beyond the Hype: How Can BDD, MBT and AI Complement Each Other?
BDD, Model-Based Testing and AI have all been presented as transformative approaches to software quality. Kyra will look past the promises to examine the strengths and weaknesses of AI and how they can be leveraged (or avoided) in BDD and MBT contexts.

ICT Knowledge Hub

Stack & Tap
Fullstack talks en goed bier voor developers.

Veel van de beste gesprekken over software ontstaan niet tijdens een presentatie, maar daarna. Wanneer engineers samen verder praten over de keuzes, uitdagingen en oplossingen achter de systemen die ze bouwen.

Stack & Tap brengt die gesprekken samen in één avond met technische talks, pizza tijdens de inloop en goed bier na afloop.
Stack & Tap is een meetup in de regio Eindhoven voor iedereen die graag praat over software engineering in een ontspannen setting. Een avond waar techniek, praktijkervaring en goede gesprekken centraal staan.

Tijdens elke editie delen engineers hun ervaringen uit projecten waar zij dagelijks aan werken. Geen theorie of marketingverhalen, maar concrete inzichten uit de praktijk. Denk aan architectuurkeuzes, technische uitdagingen en oplossingen die zijn ontstaan tijdens het bouwen van moderne software.

Het idee achter Stack & Tap is simpel: een plek creëren waar je nieuwe inzichten opdoet, ervaringen kunt delen en in gesprek raakt met anderen die net zo enthousiast zijn over software als jij.

Tijdens de inloop zorgen we voor pizza zodat je rustig kunt binnenkomen, iets kunt eten en alvast andere aanwezigen kunt ontmoeten voordat de talks beginnen.
Na de talks is er alle ruimte om verder te praten, vragen te stellen en nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten.

What if your documentation could think?

Wat als documentatie niet alleen kennis opslaat, maar actief meedenkt in engineering beslissingen?

Bij Jumbo ontwikkeld Steven een LLM maintained wiki voor het GraphQL platform. Deze wiki doet meer dan documentatie bijhouden. Door research, richtlijnen en operationele data samen te brengen in één groeiend kennisobject, wordt het systeem gebruikt om nieuwe architecturen te ontwerpen en technische keuzes te onderbouwen.
De aanpak werd onder andere ingezet voor het ontwerpen van platformoplossingen, het ondersteunen van strategische besluitvorming en het genereren van technische voorstellen.
In deze talk laat Steven zien hoe een LLM driven wiki kan uitgroeien van documentatie naar een actief onderdeel van engineering besluitvorming en architectuurontwikkeling.

Lost in Translation

Hoe gedeeld begrip de kloof tussen communicatie en verwachtingen overbrugt

Een feature klinkt eenvoudig. Het ontwerp is duidelijk. De API lijkt logisch. En toch levert het eindresultaat discussies, verrassingen of misverstanden op.
In deze sessie kijken we naar hoe informatie verandert terwijl deze door business, product, design en engineering beweegt. We verkennen waarom communicatieproblemen vaak systeemproblemen worden, hoe AI deze problemen soms versnellen, en hoe technieken zoals ADR's, Domain-Driven Design en Event Modeling helpen om gedeeld begrip te creëren.
Want betere software begint niet bij betere code, maar bij beter begrip.

Over het bier
De tweede helft van de naam zegt het al: Tap. Na de talks gaat de bar open en is er ruimte om de avond voort te zetten met een goed glas bier.

Bij elke editie staat er een speciaalbier centraal. Een mooie aanleiding om na de talks nog even te blijven hangen, verder te praten over de sessies en nieuwe gesprekken te starten.
Veel goede ideeën en technische discussies ontstaan namelijk niet tijdens een presentatie, maar juist aan de bar.

Niet commercieel karakter
Stack & Tap is een niet commercieel event dat volledig draait om kennisdeling. Het is geen sales event en ook geen recruitment event. Er worden geen diensten gepromoot en er zijn geen wervingsactiviteiten.
Het doel is simpel: een open avond organiseren waar software engineers samenkomen om ervaringen uit te wisselen en inspiratie op te doen.

Dit event is bedoeld voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in moderne softwareontwikkeling en het leuk vindt om met anderen over technologie te praten.

Om de avond persoonlijk en interactief te houden is het aantal plaatsen beperkt tot 30 deelnemers.

Now most of you will have heard of PHP_CodeSniffer as a tool to check your code for consistent code style and common best practices. But are you really getting the most out of it?

In this interactive session, you can ask Juliette anything you like about PHP_CodeSniffer and she will answer your questions via live demo.

About Juliette Reinders Folmer
Juliette Reinders Folmer is an opinionated, passionate busy-body with a prolific portfolio of contributions to various high profile open source projects over the years. She is the current maintainer of PHP_CodeSniffer, co-author of PHPCompatibility, initiator of PHPUnit Polyfills and created the PHP Cheatsheets.

Juliette regularly speaks at conferences and is always happy to discuss how we can all contribute to changing both the dev-culture as well as our code, to be better.
Juliette is self-employed and based in the Netherlands.

About the location (new Cell[0] location!)
The meetup is held at Cell[0]. Cell[0] provides us an great location, food (pizza, vegan as well) and drinks. The office of Cell[0] is inside Het Veemgebouw ('Het Veem') at Strijp-S. The address is Torenallee 108-02.
For parking, paid options are available along the road at Strijp-S and in the 'Om de Hoek' parking garage. Additionally, you can find some free parking spots along the NS train station "Strijp-S" next to Dinner Time, which is a 5-minute walk. There is also plenty of free parking at the other side of the train tracks, behind the station, along the Groenewoudseweg. That's about 10-minutes walking.
Everybody is encouraged to attend about an hour prior to the lecture, so we can have a chat while enjoying our food.
