Applying AI Events in Belgrade

"AI research" and "AI in production" are two pretty different worlds at this point. This page collects events from the production side: how teams integrate LLMs into real products, build agents that are worth trusting, wire up RAG pipelines that don't quietly hallucinate, and ship Copilot-style features without breaking the rest of the app. Agentic coding is a particularly active thread right now, with dedicated meetups and studios popping up across the continent.

This page narrows the Belgrade calendar to Applying AI events. It's a subset of Serbia's wider tech-event schedule, useful when you want something specific to go to in the city this month.

Belgrade MUG #9: Memory for AI Applications (Skill Badge Session)

Belgrade, 🇷🇸 Serbia

MongoDB User Group Belgrade is once again taking part in Belgrade AI Week this year, organized by Startit!

As part of this year’s program, we are hosting a technical session focused on one of the most important building blocks of modern AI systems: memory.

AI agents are only as useful as their ability to remember.

At the end of the event, attendees will have the opportunity to complete the official MongoDB Skill Badge assessment and earn their certification.

No laptops or local setup are required for participation, skill test can be taken using mobile phones.

We will cover the core concepts behind AI memory systems, including conversational memory, semantic caching, checkpointing, and long-term memory retrieval. We will also discuss how memory transforms stateless LLM applications into production-ready AI agents.

The session will explore architectures and technologies such as:
• MongoDB as the persistent memory and vector storage layer
• LangGraph for orchestration and checkpointing
• MongoDB Vector Search for long-term semantic memory
• Modern LLMs such as Claude, Gemini, or GPT as reasoning engines

⏱ Agenda
|18:00 PM - 18:15 PM| - Gathering, networking, food
|18:15 PM - 19:00 PM| - Memory for AI Applications Session
|19:00 PM - 19:15 PM| - Skill Badge Test
|19:15 PM - 20:00 PM| - Networking, food, swags...

🧠 What you will learn
During this session you will:
• Understand short-term and long-term memory in AI applications
• Learn how checkpointing and semantic caching work
• Understand how conversational memory is implemented in AI systems
• Explore long-term memory using MongoDB Vector Search
• Learn how to design production-grade memory architectures for AI systems

Why owning your AI matters

Belgrade, 🇷🇸 Serbia

Join us for another Golang meetup!

Why owning your AI Matters – Running open-source LLMs locally for real-world development

This time, we’re slightly stepping away from our usual Go-focused topics and diving into one of the most relevant subjects in modern software development — practical AI tooling for developers.
We are happy to announce that meetup is organized as part of AI Week by Startit! 🚀

Modern AI tooling is becoming an essential part of everyday software development — but relying entirely on cloud providers raises important questions around privacy, cost, control, and long-term ownership.

The focus of the talk will not be on training models or on the “AI engineering” role, but rather on a practical approach from the perspective of a backend developer:

  • how to run modern open-source models such as Qwen or Gemma locally
  • how to use llama.cpp for efficient model inference
  • how to connect a local model with a Claude Code CLI workflow
  • how to get an AI assistant for development without relying on cloud providers or sending code to third parties
  • what hardware is required and what can realistically be expected in terms of performance

The goal of the talk is to show that local AI tools are no longer reserved only for ML/AI engineers — backend developers can now relatively easily integrate them into their everyday workflow.

Speaker: Nikola Marković
The presentation will be in Serbian or English, depending on the audience.
