Game Development Events in Europe

European game development splits between two rhythms: the big annual anchor conferences (Gamescom and Devcom in Cologne, Reboot Develop in Dubrovnik, Nordic Game in Malmö, Develop:Brighton, Game Access in Brno, Game Connection Paris, FÍS Games Summit in Ireland, Slovenia Games Meetup) and the month-by-month community rhythm of engine-specific meetups (Godot Stammtisch, Unreal Engine sessions), GameDev meetups, playtest nights, game jams, and studio open evenings in the cities with working industries behind them.

Content covers the full stack of game development: engines (Unity, Unreal, Godot, Bevy), graphics programming, audio and sound design, narrative and writing, game design practice, ML inference for games, monetization and publishing, live-ops, and the business side of running studios. Indie and small-team content dominates the community meetup scene; the larger conferences bring in AAA studios and platform holders.

The industry is dense in the Nordics (Stockholm, Copenhagen, Malmö, Helsinki), the UK (Brighton, London, Guildford, Edinburgh/Dundee), Poland (Warsaw, Kraków), Germany (Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Bayreuth, Karlsruhe), and France (Paris, Lyon, Montpellier), with growing scenes in the Baltics, Slovenia, and southern Europe. Brainberg aggregates game-dev events into a single schedule, so developers can track their local scene plus the continental-scale events in one view.

Unity in Gothenburg with Corrie Green at Wollibolli

Gothenburg, 🇸🇪 Sweden

Join us for the June edition of Unity in Gothenburg, hosted at Wollibolli.
This meetup will be a presentation-focused evening with Corrie Green as the main speaker.

Corrie will talk about graphics optimization pipelines, extended project profiling, and analysis, with a platform-agnostic approach. The evening will also include a short introduction from the Wollibolli team about their office, work environment, and community space.

The focus of the evening is practical technical knowledge sharing: how to think about graphics optimization, profiling, and analysis across real-time projects. The talk will be platform-agnostic, making it relevant for people working across different devices, production targets, and technical constraints. Expect useful perspectives from Corrie’s talk, an inside look at Wollibolli, and time to meet others working across development, design, game tech, and real-time 3D.

Whether you work professionally with Unity, are exploring it for a project, or are curious about how game technology can be applied beyond games, you are welcome to join.
This is a free community meetup.
