Software Engineering Events in Graz
This is the widest category on Brainberg, because software engineering itself spans a huge range of events: language user groups (Python, Rust, Go, TypeScript, Kotlin, Elixir, Ruby, Zig), framework communities (React, Svelte, Next.js, Vue, Laravel, Django, NixOS), backend architecture tracks, testing and QA tracks (ISTQB certification courses, mutation testing, test-automation workshops), refactoring and DDD circles, hackathons, and the long tail of "thoughtful engineering" meetups that don't fit neatly under any specific stack.
This page narrows the Graz calendar to Software Engineering events. It's a subset of Austria's wider tech-event schedule, useful when you want something specific to go to in the city this month.

Special Event: Workshop with Marijn Huizendveld
Graz, π¦πΉ Austria
I am very happy to announce, the first special event in a workshop format!
TL,DR; One of the benefits of message-based architectures is the ability to divide the work across different responsible parties that can work independently. We will experience this during the workshop on our meetup
For this special event we will be joined by Marijn Huizendveld, a Domain-Driven Design veteran with 15 years of experience in building message-based architectures.
In the workshop guided by Marijn we will model and implement a design for a car-sharing business using messages in the form of `commands`, `events`, `questions`, and `answers`.
Expect a combination of event storming and example mapping to dive into the details.
After jointly agreeing on schema details for the messages, that will be exchanged by different parts of the system, subteams will work on solving a small isolated problem.
During the workshop we will iterate and push our solutions into the cloud, and see how our design can come together thanks to the agreed upon schema design.
During the workshop can work in Kotlin, Java or whichever JVM language you prefer π€
Join this coding workshop to experience the power of message-based architectures first hand.
Many thanks to wirecube / shopreme for graciously hosting us again! ππΌ
A little background info:
Marijn is passing by on his trip to Weblica where he will be giving his talk "Going by the book and Failing". Learn how he has helped a large Dutch energy company to adopt Domain-Driven Design in a 12 minute long documentary.
