Is there a loneliness epidemic? Looking to extend your community? Are we, as humans, becoming more lonely and isolated over time? Why might this be happening, and what can we do about it?

Join us in an open discussion on "Loneliness and Ubuntu as remedy" to explore our thoughts and feelings around loneliness, in our safe space, with good people. 😊

Meeting in community in this way is how we begin to share the load together. Understanding the principles that ground us in this connection is how we reinforce it for ourselves.

We will be joined by Janine Miller who will help us navigate this topic. Janine is a psychotherapist with an interest in supporting complex trauma including systemic harms.

We were never meant to do any of this alone.

Hello Human Connect is based off two foundational concepts

1. “Ubuntu” – a concept in which your sense of self is shaped by your relationships with other people. It’s a way of living that begins with the premise that “I am” only because “we are".

2. "Kintsugi" – the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The beauty of the repaired object incorporates the fact that it was previously broken. The idea being that the dialogue and understanding is the golden bond that reunites all the splintered labels and definitions of self into a functioning beautiful whole again.

So come to connect, share, learn, eat a snack and meet some real humans.

It is a small but powerful action you can take to be part of the change you want to see in the world.
