Tech Events in Madrid
Madrid runs the second of Spain's two main tech-event scenes. The calendar leans toward fintech, AI-applied, enterprise software, and the fast-growing startup ecosystem, with a steady rhythm of Python, JavaScript, and DevOps meetups. South Summit each spring anchors the startup side of the year.
Venues cluster around Matadero Madrid, Google Campus Madrid, and the various office-based meetup hosts; larger events fill IFEMA. Events run largely in Spanish, though international meetups increasingly run in English or hybrid.

🎙️ Talk Description
Speaker: MH. Rahmani – Researcher @ i_mBodyLab at UC3M
The Creative Side of Computing
What happens when code becomes your medium for visual and sensory expression? This talk introduces developers to the landscape of creative computing, mapping out how to shift from procedural paradigms for real-time render loops, node-based signal flow, and GPU-driven graphics.
Designed specifically for engineers, this session provides a high-level architectural overview, showing you how to leverage your existing technical skill set to start building interactive art, generative visuals, and expressive real-time systems.
We will demystify the modern ecosystem: from canvas-based code (p5.js, Processing, openFrameworks), to real-time node pipelines (TouchDesigner, VVVV), audio-visual patchers (Pure Data, Max MSP), and GLSL shaders. We’ll go over how cross-tool protocols like OSC/MIDI and shared GPU memory tie these systems together with hardware pipelines (Arduino / MicroPython) and spatial ecosystems (DMX / Projection Mapping).

KX + Habla AI Meetup
Madrid, 🇪🇸 Spain
Details:
This international group, headquartered in Madrid, is dedicated to promoting the q programming language, the kdb+ database, and their ecosystem. All talks are technical and conducted in English, with a focus on creating a hybrid experience (in-person + streaming). If you like elegant code and astonishing speed, this is your place.
Agenda:
18:20 Registration and Welcome!
18:30 KDB-X Dual Mode (Alex Weinrich & Farhang Mehregami)
19:15 Two Speeds, One Market: Combining q, Events and AI Agents (Sergio de la Garma & Pablo Lobato)
20:00 Networking
Abstract:
KDB-X Dual Mode
See how AI agents built on KDB-X turn live data into faster decisions. We'll share live demos and explain how Sovereign AI keeps your data and models in your control.
Two Speeds, One Market: Combining q, Events and AI Agents
Financial markets move faster than AI agents can reason. Rather than putting agents in the critical path, can we give them a useful role around it?
Using a market-making testbed as a running example, this talk explores how q/kdb, Solace messaging and AI agents can work together at different timescales. We take a look at what this combination can make possible, while numerical processing and execution remain deterministic.
The focus is on the boundary between fast computation and slower reasoning: what to delegate, how to coordinate it, and how to observe the consequences. A practical exploration of complementary roles for real-time data systems and agent-based architectures.
Biography:
Alex Weinrich, Senior Solutions Engineer, KX
Alex is a 20-year markets professional, having worked as a FX Trader, Risk Manager, FX Sales, and mainly Fintechs for the last decade. Farhang Mehregami, CEO & Founder, Engine AI
Farhang started his career at Citi where he spent 16 years in a variety of senior roles across Capital Markets. Farhang’s passion for empowering decision makers began in 2004 when he deployed a trading & risk platform across Citi’s Global Equities division. He then identified Palantir in 2007 as a game-changing analytics and workflow solution; his work with Palantir's founders resulted in Citi adopting it as one of Palantir’s first financial services engagements. After Citi, Farhang co-Founded Silver Ridge Asset Management, a Discretionary Asset Manager, where he spearheaded the effort to develop an in-house ML and AI platform. While building the solution, it became clear there was a need in the market for an intelligence engine to address the needs of business users across Capital Markets. In 2019, Farhang decided to tackle these opportunities and launched Engine AI. Farhang holds a BSc in Economics, Finance, from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
Sergio de la Garma, Software Engineer, Habla Computing

AI Agents: A Useful Tool or Your Next Team?
Madrid, 🇪🇸 Spain
This is a bilingual event, primarily in English. Nicolas will speak in English and Manu in Spanish, with slides in English throughout. Discussion may take place in either language, and we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone and provide translation where possible.
We’re bringing these world-class speakers together to share their deep practical experience, with each speaking in the language they feel most comfortable using. From 2027, we aim to keep each event in a single language.
What changes when AI agents become part of how we build products and work together?
Join ProductTank Madrid for a practical evening with Nicolas Léonard and Manu López, exploring what works today, where agents fall short and what might come next for product people.
In “Squad of one: stories from a solo product builder”, Nicolas will share the benefits and trade-offs of building with agents, drawing on his own experience and real client projects. He’ll explore how to steer agents, keep visibility over their work and tackle the new problems they introduce.
Manu will look ahead at how agents could reshape product work and the way we interact with technology. Will we build products for people to use, for agents to interact with, or for both? And what happens when agents start taking on work we’d previously expect from a colleague?
Expect concrete examples, honest lessons and ideas you can take back to your own work, whether you’re in a three-person startup or a 1,000-person scaleup. No technical background needed, just curiosity.
Speakers
Nicolas Léonard, Founder, Experimenta (talk in English)
Nicolas has been building products since 2013, including product leadership roles at Viadeo, Luko and Thiga. He founded Experimenta, a network of the best AI builders across product and tech, working with tech founders, CPOs and CTOs on ambitious AI transformation projects. Experimenta works as builders, not consultants, embedded in the team, from AI products in production to new operating models and training, so clients ship AI products they're proud of. For the past 7 months he has shipped as a solo builder with a team of AI agents, and tonight he'll share what worked, what broke, and what it means for PMs.
Manu López, Founder, Cardan House and Cardan School (talk in Spanish)
Manu is a product leader and Claude Code instructor with 13+ years in digital, 9+ in product management and 4+ in AI. Previously VP of Product at Lookiero and Growth PM at Colvin, he has led product organisations of 50+ people and built an AI SaaS independently. He now builds AI products, helps teams work with agents and trains product professionals to take ideas into production.

No necesitas conocimientos técnicos, solo curiosidad.

Programación de agentes con llama.cpp
Madrid, 🇪🇸 Spain
