Construir una arquitectura event-driven desde cero es una cosa. Hacerlo sobre una aplicación que lleva cinco años en producción, con usuarios trabajando en logística y problemas reales de conectividad, es otra muy distinta.

Israel nos va a contar su experiencia afrontando precisamente ese reto: cómo evolucionar una aplicación existente hacia una arquitectura basada en eventos y, además, conseguir que funcione cuando no hay conexión.

En logística hay situaciones muy habituales que complican mucho las cosas: un repartidor está trabajando sin cobertura y tiene que registrar una acción; ese evento no puede perderse y tendrá que enviarse cuando vuelva la conexión. ¿Dónde lo guardamos mientras tanto? ¿Qué ocurre si el mismo evento llega dos veces? ¿Cómo hacemos el tracking? ¿Cómo sabe el usuario qué está pasando? ¿Qué cambios hay que hacer en el modelo de datos para soportar todo esto?

Israel nos contará casos de uso reales, los problemas que fueron apareciendo durante la evolución de la aplicación y las soluciones que fueron aplicando a lo largo de todo el stack.

Desde cambios fundamentales en el modelo de datos hasta la gestión de eventos offline, duplicados, sincronización, tracking y la forma de mostrar al usuario el estado de lo que está ocurriendo.

Una charla sobre arquitectura, pero sobre todo sobre las decisiones y problemas que aparecen cuando intentas aplicar estas ideas a una aplicación que ya existe y que tiene que seguir funcionando.

En esta sesión recorreremos el espectro completo de resiliencia en AWS: desde la alta disponibilidad dentro de una región (Multi-AZ, Auto Scaling, load balancing) hasta las estrategias de Disaster Recovery multi-región (Backup & Restore, Pilot Light, Warm Standby y Active-Active). Veremos cómo elegir la estrategia adecuada según el RTO/RPO de cada aplicación, qué servicios nativos de AWS nos facilitan cada patrón, y cómo diseñar arquitecturas que se recuperen solas.
