The Decision on Trial: Who Owns AI Decisions in Production?

An AI-assisted decision has been challenged. You’re part of the engineering team responsible for defending it. Can you demonstrate that the system behaved as it should?
In this interactive talk, we’ll put an AI-assisted lending decision on trial. We’ll hear from the teams involved, examine the evidence they can provide, and see whether it’s enough to defend what happened.
Along the way, we’ll explore why a system can appear to work correctly while important questions about responsibility, human oversight and accountability remain unanswered.
