From aspiring teacher to founder of SheCodes.io, Matt Delac has built an online business that has taught more than 300,000 women to code across 190 countries. What began with in-person classes in Lisbon grew into a global online school, with a team of 18 at its peak. Before SheCodes, Matt took a different startup through Y Combinator where he was mentored by Sam Altman, gaining an early look at the challenges of building a company.

Based in Lisbon, Matt continues to lead SheCodes and the SheCodes Foundation, while exploring how AI is changing the way people learn. He’ll share what it takes to build an education business for a global audience, how his team and teaching model evolved with AI, and what it’s like to run the company from Portugal.
