Vector search is the backbone of semantic search and RAG apps. As your embedding tables grow, though, exact search across every row gets slow. Vector indexes fix that. They use the DiskANN algorithm to run fast approximate nearest-neighbour (ANN) search right inside your database, next to the rest of your relational data.
