The Exhibition runs across both days, 18–19 May, creating continuous opportunities to explore cutting-edge quantum solutions, meet leading technology providers, and engage directly with innovators shaping the quantum ecosystem. OECD session explores how firms can move from quantum awareness to real business value, with insights from industry, research & tech provide

Quantum computing holds transformative potential across multiple sectors, from pharmaceuticals and materials science to finance and transportation. As pioneering firms begin to explore this technology as a potential source of long-term competitive advantage, a key question emerges: how can companies prepare for a technology that is highly promising yet still emerging?

Organised by the OECD, this session builds on the recent report Building business readiness for quantum computing, which examines how firms can move from awareness to action. Drawing on insights from technology providers, public research organisations, research and technology infrastructures, industry associations, consulting firms, and research and innovation agencies, the session will highlight emerging approaches to supporting business engagement with quantum computing.

A panel discussion will examine how companies are seeking to engage with quantum computing as the technology continues to mature, despite unclear use cases, high costs, and limited access to skills and infrastructure. Building readiness requires not only internal capabilities, but also support from a broader ecosystem of actors contributing to learning and experimentation. The discussion will highlight how companies are beginning to build readiness, the main barriers they face, and the role of public and private organisations in enabling technology engagement. It will provide practical insights into how prospective end users can take steps toward meaningful engagement in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Abstract:

Un robot de inspección es, al final, un sensor móvil que recorre la planta capturando datos masivos. El valor real empieza después, cuando los modelos de detección (YOLO) y GenAI interpretan automáticamente instrumentos y un pipeline de datos transforma cada misión en informes accionables adaptados a cada perfil de planta: operaciones, fiabilidad, seguridad. En esta charla, contaremos cómo lo estamos haciendo en un caso real, desde la captura en campo hasta la productivización de la analítica.

Ander Sein Otegui — Alhona. Ingeniero especializado en supervisión autónoma de activos industriales. Lidera el despliegue de robots de inspección, integrando sensórica avanzada, gestión de flotas y analítica de datos en entornos industriales.
