Brainberg

Software Engineering Events in Bilbao

This is the widest category on Brainberg, because software engineering itself spans a huge range of events: language user groups (Python, Rust, Go, TypeScript, Kotlin, Elixir, Ruby, Zig), framework communities (React, Svelte, Next.js, Vue, Laravel, Django, NixOS), backend architecture tracks, testing and QA tracks (ISTQB certification courses, mutation testing, test-automation workshops), refactoring and DDD circles, hackathons, and the long tail of "thoughtful engineering" meetups that don't fit neatly under any specific stack.

This page narrows the Bilbao calendar to Software Engineering events. It's a subset of Spain's wider tech-event schedule, useful when you want something specific to go to in the city this month.

QURECA Training: A Hands-on Introduction to Quantum Computing

Bilbao, 🇪🇸 Spain

What if you could hold quantum computing in hands? This three-hour session uses the Qureka! Box — a purpose-built, game-based learning kit

What if you could hold quantum computing in your hands? This three-hour session uses the Qureka! Box — a purpose-built, game-based learning toolkit — to make quantum phenomena tangible, memorable and fun. No physics background required.

What you will cover

  • The quantum world: Why quantum mechanics matters and how it differs from classical physics.
  • Superposition & entanglement: Core quantum phenomena explored through physical models and card games — no equations needed.
  • Classical vs. quantum computing: What makes quantum computers fundamentally different and why it matters.
  • The Bloch sphere: Visualising qubit states in 3D using the hands-on 3DBlochSphere model.
  • Quantum circuits: Designing and simulating basic quantum circuits using the CompuCards toolkit and the IBM Quantum Composer.

What you will achieve

  • A solid, intuitive grasp of quantum computing fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with quantum learning tools — not just slides
  • The confidence to engage in quantum conversations in your organisation or sector
  • A foundation to continue your quantum journey

Why this training is different

  • Learn by doing: The Qureka! Box replaces passive listening with physical interaction, games and experimentation — proven to accelerate understanding and recall.
  • Research-backed methodology: Built on the ENSAR (Experience-Name-Speak-Apply-Repeat) pedagogical framework, validated across diverse professional audiences worldwide.
  • No prerequisites: Designed for the quantum-curious professional taking their first steps with these exciting new technologies.

QURECA Training: Quantum Training for Business

Bilbao, 🇪🇸 Spain

This three-hour session delivers a clear, comprehensive and vendor-neutral overview of the quantum landscape.

Quantum technologies are moving from the lab to the commercial world — and business leaders who understand them will have a decisive edge. This three-hour session delivers a clear, comprehensive and vendor-neutral overview of the quantum landscape: the science, the ecosystem, the security implications and the real-world business opportunities.

What you will cover

  • Quantum technologies fundamentals: Introduction to quantum technologies. How quantum computers work and why they are fundamentally more powerful for certain problems.
  • The quantum ecosystem: Key players, national strategies, global investment and the organisations shaping the industry.
  • Quantum security: The threat quantum poses to current encryption — and what post-quantum cryptography means for your organisation.
  • Sector use cases: Explore examples of quantum applications in sectors such as finance, logistics, healthcare, and materials science.
  • Quantum readiness: How to assess your organisation's position and take the first steps toward a quantum strategy.

What you will achieve

  • The ability to explain quantum technologies to colleagues, boards and stakeholders with credibility.
  • A clear view of the use cases most relevant to your sector and their realistic timelines.
  • An understanding of the quantum security threat — and why acting early matters.
  • A framework for beginning or informing your organisation's quantum strategy.

Why this training is different

  • A holistic approach: The only training that spans foundational science, global ecosystem dynamics, security and sector applications in a single programme.
  • Hardware and software agnostic: An independent, balanced view across all major quantum approaches.
  • Built for business leaders: Every concept is framed in terms of strategic relevance rather than technical depth. Executives, investors and managers will find it immediately applicable.
  • Delivered by world-class educators: QURECA is a globally recognised leader in quantum workforce development, with experience training professionals across industry and government on four continents.

Quantum computing readiness: From awareness to business value

Bilbao, 🇪🇸 Spain

OECD session explores how firms can move from quantum awareness to real business value, with insights from industry, research & tech provide

Quantum computing holds transformative potential across multiple sectors, from pharmaceuticals and materials science to finance and transportation. As pioneering firms begin to explore this technology as a potential source of long-term competitive advantage, a key question emerges: how can companies prepare for a technology that is highly promising yet still emerging?

Organised by the OECD, this session builds on the recent report Building business readiness for quantum computing, which examines how firms can move from awareness to action. Drawing on insights from technology providers, public research organisations, research and technology infrastructures, industry associations, consulting firms, and research and innovation agencies, the session will highlight emerging approaches to supporting business engagement with quantum computing.

A panel discussion will examine how companies are seeking to engage with quantum computing as the technology continues to mature, despite unclear use cases, high costs, and limited access to skills and infrastructure. Building readiness requires not only internal capabilities, but also support from a broader ecosystem of actors contributing to learning and experimentation. The discussion will highlight how companies are beginning to build readiness, the main barriers they face, and the role of public and private organisations in enabling technology engagement. It will provide practical insights into how prospective end users can take steps toward meaningful engagement in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Robótica autónoma para la supervisión de activos industriales

Bilbao, 🇪🇸 Spain

Details

¡Bienvenidos a Data @ Bizkaiza!

18:30 Networking

Abstract:

Bio:

Ander Sein Otegui — Alhona. Ingeniero especializado en supervisión autónoma de activos industriales. Lidera el despliegue de robots de inspección, integrando sensórica avanzada, gestión de flotas y analítica de datos en entornos industriales.
