Brainberg

Software Engineering Events in Brighton

This is the widest category on Brainberg, because software engineering itself spans a huge range of events: language user groups (Python, Rust, Go, TypeScript, Kotlin, Elixir, Ruby, Zig), framework communities (React, Svelte, Next.js, Vue, Laravel, Django, NixOS), backend architecture tracks, testing and QA tracks (ISTQB certification courses, mutation testing, test-automation workshops), refactoring and DDD circles, hackathons, and the long tail of "thoughtful engineering" meetups that don't fit neatly under any specific stack.

This page narrows the Brighton calendar to Software Engineering events. It's a subset of United Kingdom's wider tech-event schedule, useful when you want something specific to go to in the city this month.

2026 International Show 'n' Tell

Brighton, 🇬🇧 United Kingdom

IMPORTANT: Date change & venue confirmed. The date for the 2026 International Show 'n' Tell has changed to the second Thursday in November (12th). The event will be held at Runway East and streamed online if you can't make it in-person.

The November migration of the world's top web developers to the sunny city of Brighton & Hove can only mean one thing - ffconf 2026 is coming. So, it's time for another International Async Show n' tell! This year's installment will be on Thursday 12th November (the second Thursday in November).

If you're interested in giving a talk, we'd love to hear from you. It's the perfect opportunity to give a peek at your passion project, try out a lightning talk, or just share what's on your mind. You’ll have five minutes on the night to tell us about something… a project, a library, a technique, a story, or anything else about JavaScript, related tech (HTML, CSS, SVG, etc), or the wider world of web.

If you would like to grab a speaking slot, please leave a comment including:

  • Your name
  • Your main website, if you have one
  • Where to find you on the socials
  • A sentence or two about your talk
  • Any relevant links
  • Delete as appropriate:
  • I have a live demo that I will need to run on my own machine
  • I can provide slides/pre-recorded demos that are publicly accessible on the web

Ideally your talk should be available as slides on the web that can be accessed from another machine. If you have live demos it would be easiest for us (to avoid having to switch machines regularly and get the stream setup on each) if you pre-recorded these. If you cannot pre-record a demo, please note (in your comment) that you need your own machine to present.

We only have time for so many speakers, so if you'd like to secure a slot please leave your details on this meetup event - first come, first served. If on the day you feel like showing something off, we may have additional time due to cancellations, but we cannot guarantee it.

For a spot of inspiration, take a look at our International Show n' Tells in 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010.

You will be able to join us in-person at Runway East or online (link added closer to the event) thanks to Silicon Brighton.

🍕🍻 Pizza and drinks will be provided thanks to sponsorship from Puck - the open source visual editor for React.

After the event we'll be heading to a nearby pub for more drinks, and chat with the ffconf attendees.

As always we welcome people of all backgrounds and experience levels, so whether you've got a few years under your belt, or you're just starting to look into development we'd love to have you along.

In-person attendees: Please arrive at Runway East between 19:00 and 19:15 for refreshments and socializing. Make sure you are registered to attend so we have an idea of numbers for catering.

Remote attendees: We will start broadcasting the event at 19:30 online (link added closer to the event), there is no need to register.

Don't forget to join the Async Slack for updates.
