Klaus Linzner - Software Architect @ TGW Logistics

Klaus has been building .NET applications since the days when XML was considered "cutting edge." With over 20 years of experience, he has transitioned from writing code to engineering development platforms for hundreds of developers. While his daily focus is now on architecture and platform stability, C# remains his (professional) love.

A regular speaker at conferences and local meetups, Klaus enjoys sharing his passion for the details of runtime, compiler and platforms to help others spare the scars he had to take.

🗣️ 20 Years in the Trenches: Modernizing a Monolith from .NET 2.0 to .NET 10

What do you do when your codebase is old enough to vote? In 2006, .NET 2.0 on Windows was the gold standard. Today, we’re deploying .NET 10 on Linux and Kubernetes. But the road between them is paved with self-inflicted pitfalls and architectural shifts that can break even the best teams.

Join Klaus as he deconstructs a 20-year modernization journey of a massive enterprise codebase. We’ll go beyond the "how-to" and dive into the scars: resolving ASP.NET and IoC implementation nightmares, navigating the subtle (and not-so-subtle) differences between .NET on Windows and Linux, and evolving a legacy build infrastructure into a modern CI/CD powerhouse:
