Talk 1: Misaligned AI agents are here: how to evaluate frontier models that collude and know they are being tested
In May 2026, OpenAI agents working on a timed web-lookup task found DSEwiki, a German-language developer wiki run from Graz since 2001. These agents were sandboxed to only have read-access to the internet but were able to edit the wiki through GET requests. Over four weeks they left about 17,000 edits, shared answers for their tasks and collaborated on ways to score more highly. Over the same weeks and into July, roughly 1,200 sandboxed OpenAI agents working on ExploitGym evaluation tasks colluded via a covert message board and about 700 took part in breaking into Hugging Face.
In this talk, I will cover what happened and why, and offer takeaways if you build or evaluate agents. In short: misaligned agents are real; they understand they are being evaluated and attempt to game the evaluation; and even sandboxed agents should not be assumed safe.
I will close on what could actually be done about this, drawing on the manipulation evaluations we built for AI Act enforcement by the EU AI Office over the past year: what we need for frontier AI evaluations to be reliable indicators of risk, and how far AI Act enforcement can help when incidents happen with pre-deployment models.

About the speaker:
Jason Hoelscher-Obermaier is Director of Research at Apart Research, based in Vienna, where he has led the organisation's work on AI evaluations, including manipulation-risk evaluations for the EU AI Office. He holds a PhD in physics from the University of Vienna, worked on dangerous-capability evaluations at ARC Evals (now METR), and was an ML engineer at two European AI startups.

Talk 2: AI Inference Engines and Instances: Strategies for Scaling LLM Infrastructure

LLM inference is more than just deploying a model. With Ollama, vLLM, SGLang, there are a variety of specialized engines, each with its own strengths in latency, throughput, ease of use, and configuration. In this talk, we take a practical look at modern LLM infrastructure: Which engine to use when? How do we scale beyond single nodes? And why is context-aware orchestration the key to efficiency when connecting different engines in a cluster?
By the end, you’ll have a roadmap for choosing the right engine for your use case and managing it in a scaled production environment.

Jonas Aaron Vander is CTO and co-founder of Xinity, a Vienna-based sovereign AI infrastructure company, and the architect behind Xinity Runtime, an open-source, OpenAI-compatible inference platform that lets regulated European enterprises run LLMs entirely on their own hardware, currently serving production workloads like Mediengruppe Wiener Zeitung. His background is in AI solution architecture and MLOps.

Talk #1: Call center audio analytics: Hours of sensitive customer calls, turned into insights - with sovereign and private AI [Georg Heiler, Danilo Labanca]

The most valuable data in a telco is the data you are least free to send anywhere. A recorded customer call carries a voice fingerprint - biometric data under GDPR - and that holds for your evaluation set just as much as for production. We show how sovereign AI unlocks use cases an external API may never touch, and why the same setup turned out cheaper. Open weights, Ray, Dagster and Metaxy - and an honest look at where the GPUs should live for operational AI.

Talk #2: The Agent, Your Business Need [Martin Mayr, Adrian Dimaano]

More businesses than ever explore the use of agentic workflows to automate manual tasks. One common use case is the integration into company data and knowledge landscape. This integration comes with a few challenges: How should one reflect company polices? How can one connect different software solutions to the agent and how can one make sure to reflect and isolate workflows.

In this talk we are going to explore possible answers to each question and present a practical example, how one can integrate agentic workflows to support the company in day-to-day business.

Lessons from bringing an AI agent to production (and building a start-up along the way)

In this session, we, Patrick Hohenecker and Heinz Eckert, founders of AI consultancy Neural Natives, will share practical insights and surprising challenges from building an agentic AI system and putting it into production.
The project we will focus on is an agent we developed for a group of functional fitness gyms in Vienna. The system helps prospective customers select and book a group class for their first trial session.
We will cover learnings and surprises across the full project lifecycle: scoping the project and aligning with the client, development and deployment, and ultimately operating the solution in production.
Our aim for this session is to give you a hands-on perspective on what it takes to make agentic AI work in practice today.

Patrick has a background in Computer Science and AI, earned his PhD in Deep Learning from the University of Oxford, and previously founded and served as CTO of successful international tech startups in the legal and hospitality sectors.

Heinz studied Computer Science and Psychology. He previously led the AI team at a large Austrian telecom provider and has more than 10 years of experience in data and AI.

In this talk, Joaquín will walk us through the development of Beat Shaper — an AI-powered music production tool designed for electronic music producers.

"The Terraform Trust Gap: Engineering the Space Between Prompts and Production"

About the talk:
Agents can already write Terraform. That was never the hard part. The hard part is that the context going in is stale and the apply coming out is too easy to hand over, so you get code that looks right, passes your linters, even terraform plan passed, but still it quietly does the wrong thing in production. This talk runs one module everyone knows, terraform-aws-modules/s3-bucket, through the whole chain live. First I give the agent a real contract instead of a README and watch the hallucinated config disappear. Then I take one of the module's own examples and turn it into a fixture that fails the moment it drifts from the module. Then I let the agent plan changes but not apply them. A human has to approve the plan first, and apply only runs on the approved one. On stage the agent tries to apply by itself and you watch it get blocked. You leave with three things to do on Monday, every pattern working with open tooling, and an honest feedback of where the chain still breaks. No vendor account, no prompt magic.

The talk: Monorepos promise speed, autonomy, and happiness. We believed them.

With NX, Module Federation, and split deployments, every team could ship independently, at least in theory. What we got instead: 40-minute CI builds, 4-minute local builds, thousands of duplicated assets, broken security fixes, and a lot of "works on my machine".

In this talk: why we consolidated to one UI, one build, one shared release. The architect on why technical autonomy without organizational alignment breaks down. The Ops engineer on how builds went from 40 minutes to 1: mostly deleting things, plus some optimization.

As a software enthusiast and communicator, she bridges the gap between developers and management, promoting better quality, stronger engineering practices, and a healthy software culture. Her focus areas include software architecture, DevSecOps, testing, platform governance, and organizational transformation.

Felix Klein (not related) is a Site Reliability Engineer and dislikes writing bios.

One line disappeared from a system prompt during an ordinary week of edits. The tests stayed green. The JSON stayed valid. And the classifier quietly began routing almost every request to the wrong specialist — a production failure nobody caused by touching the code.

This evening is about the failures that look correct: behavioural drift in LLM systems. Output that a human reader would sign off on, that passes every schema check, and that safe fallbacks quietly paper over — so a mis-routed request can go unnoticed for days. We'll look at why the usual answers (add validation, write more evals) don't catch it, and what testing, observability, and plain engineering discipline actually look like when your software is non-deterministic.

Then we open it up: a panel on who owns reliability when the code didn't change — system prompts as code vs. config vs. content, safe fallbacks vs. loud failures, and whether an LLM feature can ever earn the same trust as deterministic code.

Abstract

[ILSpy](https://github.com/icsharpcode/ILSpy/) started its life in 2011 as a ramshackle application on .NET Framework and made its way through one major UI refactoring up to .NET 10, all the while using WPF as its UI framework. Third-party projects (forks) built frontends using other UI frameworks, but we stayed put. Until... you'll hear that story in the talk.
Replatforming your UI on a different framework doesn't start with coding, it starts with evaluating your options, analyzing the pros and cons, the community, the strengths and weaknesses and what it ultimately comes down to, your preferences. It is a big investment you are making, and you don't want for it to come back and haunt you.
Once you have settled on a framework of your choice, modern tooling takes center stage: coding agents, which are really good at porting work and frontends in general. But is one-shotting a good idea? What surprises do they have in store for you? Where do they really excel? Costs? And that is not the end of it... What happens with platform idiosyncrasies? Your CI system? The deployment story?
You will get a first-hand experience report with all the oopsies and facepalms, not protecting the guilty, who are your speakers today!
