For this event we prepared a set of mathematical exercises about modelling the spread of a disease with differential equations.

You will be able to try different numerical techniques and approaches in fairly small and modular exercises. You can stay for one exercise (30min each) or stay longer for more.

We will make teams of 2 people and swap teams regularly so you also get to know how others think and stay focused.

(Apologies to the people who wanted Euler problems in an earlier version of the event, we decided to create some custom problems.)

The event titled 'VMware to Proxmox: A Practical Migration Path' is designed to assist organizations in navigating the challenges of transitioning from VMware to Proxmox, a popular open-source virtualization platform. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Linux Belgium and Mind, focusing on the pressing need for organizations to adapt to rising licensing costs and avoid vendor lock-in through effective use of open-source technologies. The event will take place at the Odisee co-hogeschool - Technologiecampus Gent, located in Ghent, Belgium.

Attendees will benefit from a comprehensive program featuring key industry speakers. Emiliano D'Agostino, the CEO of Mind, will kick off the event with a welcome address. Following this, Jasper Nuyens, the CEO of Linux Belgium, will lead a session on VMware to Proxmox migration along with a live demonstration of Proxmox. Wannes Smet, a System Administrator at ICSense, will share a real-world case study detailing the migration process from VMware to Proxmox utilizing a Ceph storage backend. The event promises to deliver insights into practical migration paths, lessons learned from customer experiences, and a pragmatic methodology demonstrated through proof of concepts (POCs). Additionally, Jasper Nuyens will discuss Proxmox support and training options available, as well as introduce new Proxmox courses being launched in Belgium.
