ENCATC Breakfasts - AI for the Cultural and Creative Industries

Ixelles, 🇧🇪 Belgium

Exploring how AI is reshaping the cultural and creative industries over breakfast, conversation and fresh perspectives.

The ENCATC Breakfasts

Strengthening the capacity of European cultural networks to navigate the digital transformation is essential to building a resilient, innovative and future-ready cultural sector.

In this context, since 2016, ENCATC has organised a yearly series of practical masterclasses designed to support the responsible and sustainable integration of emerging technologies into the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs).

As AI rapidly reshapes the ways cultural organisations work, create, communicate and engage with audiences, cultural professionals face both new opportunities and important challenges.

Led by Julie Mariq, our four upcoming ENCATC Breakfasts will guide participants on how AI can support everyday professional tasks, enable smarter workflows, enhance communication and audience engagement, and help organisations navigate copyright, ethics and data protection. The four masterclasses will begin with a networking breakfast, offering a space to exchange experiences, connect with Brussels-based peers and representatives of European cultural networks, and build new synergies.

Whether you are new to AI or already experimenting with it, join us to discover how these evolving tools can support your work, your organisation and its future.

UPCOMING SESSIONS

23 October 2026 (08:30 - 11:30 CET) - AI at Work I: Getting Started with AI for Everyday Professional Tasks.

Discover how generative AI can support everyday professional tasks, from drafting and improving texts to summarising documents, translation, brainstorming, research and meeting preparation. Through practical exercises based on real situations in European networks and cultural organisations, participants will learn effective prompting techniques and identify opportunities to save time with AI.

6 November (08:30 - 11:30 CET) - AI at Work II: From Simple Prompts to Smarter Workflows.

Move beyond individual AI tasks to explore how AI can improve professional workflows and organisational efficiency. Participants will learn how to analyse documents, organise information, prepare reports and briefings, support project planning, turn meeting notes into actionable tasks and strengthen organisational knowledge management.

20 November (08:30 - 11:30 CET) - AI for Communication, Audiences and Communities

Explore how AI can support communication, content creation, social media, newsletters, online campaigns and audience engagement. Through practical examples, participants will discover how to adapt messages to different audiences, better understand their needs and use AI-generated content effectively while preserving their organisation’s distinctive voice and identity.

27 November (08:30 - 11:30 CET) - Responsible AI: Copyright, Ethics and the Future of Cultural Organisations

Look into the key considerations for adopting AI responsibly in cultural organisations, including copyright, intellectual property, confidentiality, data protection, bias and transparency. Preventing Early School Leaving: ESL-PREDIN Pilot Testing – Nov 10 (10:00)

Ixelles, 🇧🇪 Belgium

Explore educational data on early school leaving and discover AI’s potential to help educators identify dropout risks and support prevention

How can AI support efforts to prevent early school leaving? Join us for a hands-on exploration of ESL-PREDIN, a prototype developed within the Erasmus+ stAI project (Act Before it Happens: Preventing and Fighting Early Leaving in Education and Training with AI).

During this pilot testing session, you will have the opportunity to explore educational data on early school leaving and experiment with predicting dropout risk using AI. Together, we will reflect on the potential of AI to help identify patterns and support prevention efforts, as well as the limitations of the prototype and the requirements for future AI-supported educational tools.

Who should participate?

The session is intended for professionals involved in education and the prevention of early school leaving, including:

  • Teachers and other educational staff
  • School leaders and educational coordinators
  • Education policymakers and educational policy officers
  • Researchers working in education, educational data, or AI
  • Professionals from educational institutions and organisations involved in preventing early school leaving

No technical or AI background is required. Your professional experience, perspectives, and reflections are what matter most.

Please note that ESL-PREDIN is an experimental prototype, not a finished system ready for immediate use in schools. The session is an opportunity to explore what AI can offer, understand its limitations, and discuss what future tools would need to better support educators and educational decision-makers.
