Description:
The Uber office in Aarhus is a platform engineering site at heart. That means building planetscale platforms that enable thousands of software engineer to build complex distributed highly available systems that server a global market with tens of millions of trips per day.

Self-service is a defining property of platform engineering. With platform teams in Denmark serving all times zones, this becomes especially important.

In this talk, I will cover how we leverage Agentic AI to improve our self-service capabilities. Giving users around the global the experience of real time support in a distributed environment.
We cover some of our successful initiatives and also how we work to ensure AI amplifies rather than dampens product feedback.

About the speaker:
Johan is a Developer Advocate for "Platform" at Uber. He has been a platform engineer at Uber in Aarhus for four years, before switching to advocacy.

Johan lives in the space between platform and product and applies software engineering principles to advocacy.

Location:
Office is located at Carl Blochs Gade 89, 5th floor. 8000 Aarhus C. Entry is through the reception on the ground floor.

Parking is available behind the building at P-hus Nord (Søren Frichs vej). Cars must be registered at the Lidl reception and parking is first-come, first-served on the 11th floor. (If the 11th floor is fully booked the floors below it can be used)

Food and drinks:
There will be beverages, coffee and cake.

Want to get your hands dirty and do some Rust coding yourself?
This is a hands-on event for both beginners and experienced Rust developers. Bring your laptop and work on your pet project, program our robot, join other developers and start hacking on something, or get help writing your very first line of Rust code.

The program for the evening will be:

• 18:00: Welcome
• 18:20: Hack, hack, hack
• 20:45: Let’s hear what you have been hacking on
• 21:00: Continue the talk over a beer at a nearby bar

Please notice that this event does not include any food, so make sure to refuel before you arrive. Please also notice that we are not allowed to bring our own food.

Location
The room named "Aktivitetslokale" in Folkehuset Møllestien, Grønnegade 10, Aarhus.
Continue straight through the main entrance, and then it is on your left.
If you arrive late, the main entrance will be locked. In that case, follow the facade 2/3 down Grønnegade and knock on the window, and we will let you in through the main entrance.

Get your endorphins flowing in a breezy 5 km run at a talkable pace (we promise). The run wraps up at a cozy café with a beverage and with time to socialize and relax. Perfect for stretching your legs and your network.
It’s a fun, informal way to network and strengthen ties across the local tech hub!
