In this Morning Meetup, Camilla Kruse (Talent Acquisition Specialist) and Malte Blaabjerg (IT Project Manager / Team Coach) will share how Specialisterne's recruitment process differs from traditional hiring practices and how we identify neurodivergent IT talent. We will also discuss how we continuously adapt to the changing demands of the IT industry and build tailored academies that equip our candidates with the skills employers are looking for.

Beyond grep: structure-aware search for Rust code with srcsearch

srcsearch is a lightweight search engine for source code and project documentation that I wrote in Rust. It parses Rust source files and Markdown documentation and indexes them using Tantivy, with BM25-based relevance ranking.

The key difference from grep-like tools is the unit being searched.

A line-oriented search tool matches individual lines. srcsearch instead indexes meaningful structures: Rust entities such as functions, structs, and implementations, as well as Markdown sections. Information belonging to an entity is kept together in fields such as its name, signature, documentation, and source code.

This means a query can match information distributed across an entire Rust entity. For example, one query term might occur in a type's declaration while another occurs in its documentation or methods. srcsearch can combine those signals and rank the entity as one result, even when no individual source line contains the complete query.

This is also useful for coding agents. An agent exploring an unfamiliar repository often does not know the exact identifier or string to search for. Instead, it may start with a higher-level task such as find the code responsible for filtering files or locate the documentation for the search configuration. Returning a small ranked set of relevant functions, types, implementations, and documentation sections can give the agent better starting points than a large list of matching lines. Because srcsearch runs locally and exposes structured results, it can also be used as a retrieval component inside agentic developer tools.

A talk about the benefits of rust compared to python when integrated into the yocto embedded linux build environment.

Andreas is Development Engineer at SkyTEM. Master of electronics. Experience in embedded programming using FPGAs, microcontrollers with bare-metal C, microcontrollers with RTOS and embedded linux. Now working in a team where we handle everything from timing critical FPGA programming over python and rust on embedded yocto linux to containers and databases in azure.

The Facets of Facet

In the rust world we love our 0 cost abstractions, but what happens if we wanna pay just a few cents for a better abstraction, what superpowers can we get. In this talk we'll be discussing the serialization strategy of facet and serde, how they differ and what other superpowers we gain from paying a little bit of speed upfront
Facet is a general purpose reflection library which allows you to get the Shape of a struct, which on the surface seems like just an alternative (and slower) approach to serialization but doing it this way allows us to use the same derived data in ways extremely cool and helps us reduce boilerplate and ensuring correctness

We're delighted to welcome Johannes Hatting, Lead Red Team Manager at JN Data, which delivers IT operations and infrastructure to the financial sector.

Johannes will share the story of his own path into cybersecurity and give us a look at what Red Teaming actually is and how it plays out in practice in an organisation like JN Data. Along the way, he'll cover the processes behind the work, as well as the technical skills and the mindset it takes to succeed in the field.

We'll take a break for dinner, so there'll be plenty of time to chat and network.

CyberSkills Bootcamp for elever fra ungdomsuddannelserne og 9.–10. klasse.

Er du nysgerrig på cybersikkerhed, og vil du prøve kræfter med, hvordan "de rigtige" hackere arbejder? Så er CyberSkills Bootcamp en oplagt mulighed for dig!

Vi har sammensat en lørdag fyldt med hands-on udfordringer, fede challenges og masser af hygge med andre unge, der også synes, at teknologi, sikkerhed og hacking er spændende. Bootcampen afholdes på Aarhus Universitet i tæt samarbejde med det det lokale cybercommunity, 0-Day Aarhus, der jævnligt mødes på universitetet, og som er åbent for alle.

Vi vil gøre vores allerbedste for at give dig en sjov og lærerig introduktion til cyber- og informationssikkerhed – og hjælpe dig med at tage dine første (eller næste) skridt i den cyberverdenen.

Du kommer til at arbejde på en Capture the Flag (CTF)-platform, hvor du skal løse opgaver og udfordringer, der minder om det, rigtige cybersikkerhedsfolk udfører til hverdag. Der bliver både:

• "Fri leg" – hvor du selv kan prøve kræfter med opgaver i dit eget tempo
• Guidede sessioner – hvor dygtige instruktører viser dig, hvordan man angriber, forsvarer og tænker som en etisk hacker

Vi bruger også nogle opgaver fra De Danske Cybermesterskaber (DDC) – så har du deltaget I DDC, vil du måske genkende noget… men her handler det ikke om konkurrence, det handler om at blive klogere, skarpere og vigtigst af det hele - have det sjovt!

Du får fingrene helt ned i teknikken og lærer f.eks.:

• Hvordan man finder og udnytter sikkerhedshuller
• Hvordan kryptering og kodeord fungerer – og hvordan de kan knækkes
• Hvordan man tænker som en "white hat"-hacker og beskytter systemer
• Hvordan du bruger værktøjer som Wireshark og Linux til at udforske systemer

Kort sagt: du lærer at forstå, hvordan internettet hænger sammen – og hvordan man gør det mere sikkert.

Alle elever fra ungdomsuddannelserne (STX, HTX, HHX, HF, EUX osv.) samt 9.–10. klasse, der synes cybersikkerhed lyder spændende er velkomne – uanset niveau!

Du behøver ikke at kunne kode eller have erfaring med cybersikkerhed for at deltage - bare du er er nysgerrig og klar på at lære noget nyt.
