This time we will be hosted at the IT University Copenhagen (ITU). They also have been lecturing Scala directly for many years (> 10 years) in the course Advanced Programming. For some among us, this is where their Scala journey started and will start.

Curious about 3D design and how to create useful, precise models of your own?

Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to Onshape, an online 3D modelling tool used for parametric design.

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to create and shape simple 3D objects, work with measurements and parameters, and get familiar with some of the key tools in Onshape. The aim is to give you enough of a foundation to continue experimenting and designing on your own afterwards.

No previous experience with 3D design is needed.

Who are the so-called "comedians"? Well, one has a PhD in Computer Science and wrote an entire book about everything that can go wrong in retrospectives. The other spent more than a decade watching agility and reality collide, and turned the resulting trauma into comic strips. Both have travelled the world with their own special brand of edutaining talks. Now, the inevitable has happened. They’re joining forces on the most humbling stage of them all: stand-up comedy.

In true agile fashion, there is no detailed plan. But you can expect high-level epics, improv, crowd work, questionable decisions and a healthy amount of figuring things out as they go.

Large language models are eating the world. Frontier labs keep pushing the boundary, open-weights models are quickly closing the gap, Europe is — as always — stuck somewhere in the middle, and even Portugal has now released AMÁLIA, its own effort in the space.

But what does it actually take to build an LLM trained on a niche dataset? Why would you? And where do you start when there is so little data? In this talk, I’ll walk through my work on European Portuguese LLMs: from building benchmarks, to finding and filtering data, to training models, and everything in between. Even though this talk focuses on Portuguese, it should be easily applicable to any language/domain!

Join us for an afternoon with Daniel Stilck França, associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen and one of Denmark's leading researchers in quantum computing, as we explore the potential impact of quantum algorithms on the insurance and pension sector.

The event is for anyone interested, whether you work with risk, modelling, trading, portfolio construction, optimisation, innovation or strategy develoment. No expertize required, as long as you are curious, and willing to share your questions and perspectives.

Exploring New Frontiers in Risk, Optimisation, and Decision-Making

Quantum computing is advancing rapidly, raising important questions about how new computational capabilities could transform industries built on complex modelling, optimisation, and risk assessment. While practical applications are still emerging, researchers are already investigating how quantum algorithms may open new possibilities for solving challenges that are difficult or impossible to address with classical computing approaches.

Drawing on current research, Daniel will discuss quantum approaches to risk estimation and optimisation, explaining where mathematical speedups are established and what assumptions they require. Examples from portfolio optimisation and financial risk will illustrate both opportunities and limitations and provide a basis for discussing which insurance and pension workloads merit further investigation.

David Kofoed Wind is a co-founder of Agentwork, where he builds AI agents that put company knowledge to work. He holds a PhD in machine learning from the Technical University of Denmark and previously co-founded Peergrade and Eduflow. A Y Combinator alumnus, he led Eduflow as CEO through its acquisition by Multiverse in 2023. His work combines a research background in machine learning with firsthand experience turning technology into products and companies.

Topic: "How do you turn a company’s scattered documents, conversations, and operational data into a knowledge layer that AI agents can use? In this talk, I’ll share my experiences building a “company brain” at Agentwork: connecting internal systems and making company context accessible to agents. I’ll explore the technical and organizational challenges behind this approach, from retrieving relevant information and keeping knowledge current to managing access and integrating agents into everyday workflows. Expect practical examples, architectural tradeoffs, and lessons learned for building a company brain of your own."

Kübra Altinel Bruun is a Senior AI Engineer at Skatteguiden and a Mistral AI Ambassador. She has a PhD in Computational Biology and Probabilistic Machine Learning from Copenhagen University and is deeply committed to making AI accessible, responsible, and impactful.

Self-Healing Rust: Fast Feedback Loops for Coding Agents

Rust gives coding agents excellent feedback, but running every check after every turn can get slow as a project grows.

I’ll show the self-healing loop I use in Rust projects: starting with fast checks, then running targeted Clippy and tests based on what changed. Cargo’s JSON output helps the agent understand failures and try again without involving me. The full test suite runs once the agent has settled, rather than after every turn.

The talk is about finding a practical balance: giving agents feedback quickly while still making sure “done” actually means the code has been checked.

Jordan Munch O'Hare is the founder of Self-Deprecated, an Aarhus-based company helping developers and organisations adopt agentic development. His background is in developer experience and platform engineering, with a particular interest in improving the systems through which software gets built.

He describes himself as a “nerd of nerds”, uses Rust among several languages, and is especially fond of Iced and its Elm-inspired architecture. His current focus is designing agent workflows around fast feedback, context management, attention management, and self-healing verification loops.

Bevy is a game engine that is simple, data-driven and extensible. Every Bevy application lives under the law of the Entity Component System (ECS), which Bevy makes easy with an intuitive and ergonomic API. But at what cost?
Join me as I explore what's going on under the hood of the Bevy engine, how it implements ECS, and what compromises it made along the way.

Ben is a software developer originally from Australia. He's had experience building everything from web applications to control systems. He likes to tinker with Rust in his spare time, and daydream about ways to introduce it at work.

Design and build your own miniature shelf for displaying figures, collectibles or other small treasures.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll get an introduction to laser cutting and learn how to turn your own design into a physical object. With guidance along the way, you’ll design, cut and assemble a mini shelf suited to your own collection and ideas.

No previous experience is needed, and if you haven’t used a laser cutter before, we’ll introduce you to the process and help you along the way.

Join She Invests for a practical talk with Lasse Engel Pedersen on using AI in your investing journey - from understanding your investor profile to researching companies and exploring different scenarios.

AI can support your research, but knowing what to question and verify is essential. Lasse will share how he uses these tools in his own investing and where their limitations lie.

About the speaker

Lasse Engel Pedersen is Vice President, Energy Platforms & Transformation at Norlys, with previous experience at Danfoss, Microsoft, SAP, DSB and Jabra.

He combines a background in technology and business transformation with a personal interest in investing, probability and critical thinking. He uses AI to research investments, compare pension scenarios and challenge his own assumptions.
