Tech Events in Leipzig

WordPress an sich ist relativ sicher. Wer auf seiner Website allerdings Plugins einsetzt vergrößert damit das Risiko für Sicherheitsprobleme dramatisch. Wer eine eigene Website betreibt kann Maßnahmen ergreifen um für mehr Sicherheit zu sorgen. Wer Plugins anbietet oder etwa als Agentur WordPress-Websites für andere Betreibt kann zusätzlich weitere Maßnahmen ergreifen, um für eine sichereres Web zu sorgen.
In diesem Vortrag geht es unter anderem um:

• konkrete Maßnahmen zum Absichern eigener Websites
• Management von Plugin-Sicherheit in Entwicklung und Wartung
• Zutatenlisten für digitale Produkte (wie Websites), sogenannte SBOMs

Einige dieser Maßnahmen werden spätestens ab 2027 mit dem Cyber Resilience Act sogar verpflichtend.

We will discuss all aspects of digital freedom, share our experiences and answer each other's questions as well as possible.
Basic topics:

• Degoogling - how do I make my phone private. How to escape mass surveillance.
• How to communicate safely - which apps and services spy on us and which don't.
• How to install a custom ROM.
• What runs on custom ROMs and what doesn't.
• Linux distros. The systemd age verification debacle.
• How to block ads.
• Which VPN to choose.
• Useful apps
• Useful tips
• Alternatively, if you need any help with your (Android) phone, you are also welcome. We can show you how to change a battery or a charging dock.
• The participants will communicate in their language of choice. The organizers will try to accomodate both English and German speakers.

Wir laden euch herzlich zur nächsten Session unserer offenen KI-Projektwerkstatt ein. Von 16:00 bis 19:00 Uhr öffnet das Living Lab seine Türen für alle, die mit KI praktisch arbeiten, experimentieren oder eigene Ideen umsetzen möchten.

Zu Beginn wird es diesmal eine Vorstellungsrunde geben: Stellt euch selbst und eure Projekte & Ideen vor und findet Mitstreiter:innen, die sich mit ihren Kompetenzen einbringen oder sie mit euch umsetzen.
Für die Projektwerkstatt stehen fertige Open-Source-Setups mit Zugang zur TUD:AI-API bereit – ideal zum Ausprobieren, Entwickeln von Projekten, Basteln, Lernen oder Weiterentwickeln des eigenen Setups. Zur Verfügung stehen u. a. Modelle wie GLM5.2, MiniMax-M3, Kimi K2.7, Code und vieles mehr.

Arbeitet allein oder im Team an eigenen Ideen und Projekten und testet Opencode und unseren HPC-LLM-Service TUD:AI! Zum Abschluss gibt es freiwillige Kurz-Demos (3–5 Minuten) und einen offenen Austausch.

We meet on the third Tuesday of every month at Basislager Coworking Leipzig. Each event features one founder from a biotech company or startup sharing their story, what they built, how they started, what went wrong, and what they learned along the way. After the talk: Q&A and open networking over food and drinks.

Join our yearly AIoT Hackathon with the key topics AI & AIoT

September 21st & 22nd, 2026

This year, the Cumulocity Hackathon is heading to our office in Leipzig! We are focusing heavily on the hot topic of AI in the context of AIoT, featuring three exciting challenges:

• 🤖 AIoT Solutions: Leverage our AI-enabled platform to build awesome, end-to-end solutions, prototypes, or demos.
• 🖥️ AI Tools: Build components and tools that extend the AI capabilities of our platform—such as Skills, MCP-Servers, management tools, microservices, UI plugins, or even full agents. Pitch them in a live demo!
• 🧩 AI Puzzle: Solve pre-defined, complex problems using the provided toolset while leveraging Cumulocity and AI.

• Hands-on experience with Cumulocity, the industry-leading AIoT platform.
• 3 innovative challenges at the intersection of AI and AIoT.
• Networking opportunities to meet Cumulocity experts and connect with fellow hackers.
• Free catering, including drinks, lunch, and dinner.
• Skill building by working with the latest technology and industry trends.
