🇬🇷 Tech Events in Greece
Athens and Thessaloniki run Greece's tech-event calendar, with a fast-growing software engineering and startup scene in both cities. Active cities on Brainberg right now include Athens and Municipality of Alimos. Brainberg aggregates listings from multiple event platforms and community calendars into a single European feed, so the full schedule for the country shows up in one chronological view instead of spread across separate platforms.

Event Driven AI Orchestrator [foobar.i/o #10]
Athens, 🇬🇷 Greece
We are rolling into the 10th iteration of foobar.i/o
with "Event Driven AI Orchestrator"
The case: AI agents are powerful but unpredictable. The real challenge isn't making them smarter, it's keeping them under control.
In this session, Eric Johnson builds an event-driven AI orchestrator using serverless on AWS, where deterministic infrastructure orchestrates non-deterministic AI agents. You'll see how EventBridge, Step Functions, and Lambda work together to coordinate agents that can reason freely while the system enforces guardrails, retries, and sequencing.
The result: AI that's useful without being dangerous. This is a live-build session, expect working code, real demos, and practical patterns you can take home.
Who would really want to miss that?
Join us Tuesday, May 12 𝗮𝘁 6:30 𝗽𝗺 for the pre-summer edition of foobar io Greece meetup!
You will find us at Michalakopoulou 80,Athens (1st floor) hosted by XM (again)!
Bio: Eric Johnson is a Principal Developer Advocate at Amazon Web Services and a father of five who believes technology should be fun. He specializes in serverless architectures and has built a reputation for making complex technical concepts genuinely understandable. A keynote speaker at conferences worldwide, Eric is most at home on stage, whether he's breaking down event-driven design for seasoned architects or encouraging students writing their first lines of code. He brings humor and energy to everything he does, because he's convinced that if you're not enjoying the work, you're doing it wrong.

AI and Beers - Athens #6 @ Panathenea 2026
Athens, 🇬🇷 Greece
🤖 AI agents aren't chatbots! They decide, they act, they call APIs, they handle data and when something goes wrong, you find out days later, if at all. Over the past twelve months, production agents have leaked credentials, executed unauthorized transactions, and exfiltrated confidential data through prompt injection. Classical security and QA playbooks don't catch these attack surfaces, because the trust boundary just moved, and most teams haven't caught up yet.
We're gathering for an honest conversation - no theory, no vendor pitches. On the panel, practitioners who work on agent security every day, from people leading international open-source security frameworks to QA veterans who know first-hand why deterministic testing collapses in the face of non-deterministic AI. We'll talk about the new attack surfaces, real production incidents, and what every builder needs to know before shipping agents.
Most AI security conversations happen behind closed doors. This one happens under the open Athens sky — accessible to all levels, beer in hand, in the city that invented public discourse.🍻
📅 Thursday, May 28, 2026, 19:00, we'll discuss the security of Agentic AI systems, real-world incidents, emerging attack surfaces, and what every builder needs to know before they ship.
📍 Where? In the back courtyard of New York College, 38 Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, Athens 105 58 — a relaxed, open-air space in the heart of the city, ideal for conversation and networking.
🚌 Getting there: Right across from the National Garden:
Metro: "Syntagma" Station (Lines 2 & 3) — 3 minutes on foot
Tram: "Syntagma" Stop
Buses: 040, 550, X14, 5, 15 (Stops "Amalias" or "Syntagma")
Trolleybuses: 2, 4, 5, 11 (Stop "Syntagma")
👉 Panel Discussion: Securing the Agentic Web
An honest conversation about the security challenges of agentic AI — what actually goes wrong in practice, what the new attack surfaces look like, and how you build AI agents that won't betray you when incidents hit. Accessible to all levels — no prior security background required.
👉 Fireside Chat: Success Stories
Honest, first-hand accounts from teams inside Greek enterprises who deployed agentic AI into production and lived through what came next. They'll walk us through the risks they actually faced.
