AI Integration & ApplicationMeetupFree

Beyond the Terminal. Vibe Coding, Antigravity & the AI-First Developer

Thessaloniki, 🇬🇷 Greece

Are you still writing boilerplate by hand, or have you transitioned to orchestrating intelligence?
The era of software development is undergoing a fundamental phase shift. With modern AI models, agentic IDEs, and code synthesizers handling complex context windows, the industry is moving rapidly toward "vibe coding"—a state of development where natural language, architecture design, and strategic iteration supersede tedious syntax management.
Join GDG Cloud Thessaloniki for an evening focused on shedding development friction and unlocking Antigravity: the ability to launch ideas into production at unprecedented velocity without losing control over code quality, system design, or security.

What We’ll Cover
  • Deconstructing "Vibe Coding": Moving past the meme—what high-velocity, intent-driven programming actually looks like in practice.
  • The Agentic Toolchain: How modern developers leverage tools (Cursor, Gemini Code Assist, Claude, GitHub Copilot) for iterative, conversational refactoring and prototyping.
  • Antigravity Best Practices:
  • Precision Prompting & Context Steering: Structuring context files, rules (.cursorrules, system prompts), and specs to keep models aligned.
  • Quality Gates & Verification: Using automated testing, strict linting, and continuous integration as your safety net while moving fast.
  • Architecture Over Syntax: Why domain knowledge and system design matter more than ever when code generation is nearly instantaneous.
  • Live Demo & Workflows: Building and iterating an application in real time using conversational and agentic workflows.
  • Q&A & Community Discussion: Open floor on developer career longevity, technical debt, and navigating the AI-assisted engineering landscape.
Who Should Attend
  • Software Engineers & Cloud Architects looking to streamline their daily workflow and eliminate routine boilerplate.
  • Tech Leads & DevOps Practitioners curious about managing code quality and automated verification in AI-assisted pipelines.
  • Students & Tech Enthusiasts eager to understand modern tooling, agentic developer workflows, and where software engineering is headed next.
Agenda
  • 18:30 – 19:00 | Welcome, Check-in & Community Catch-up
  • 19:00 – 19:15 | GDG Cloud Thessaloniki Intro & Community Updates
  • 19:15 – 20:15 | Presentation & Live Demos: Vibe Coding & Antigravity Workflows
  • 20:15 – 21:00 | Interactive Networking, Drinks & Pizza

Prerequisites: Bring your curiosity and laptop (optional if you want to follow along with interactive prompts/tools). No prior advanced AI expertise required—just an interest in shipping code faster and smarter!

The 101st Query: Multitenancy at Scale

Thessaloniki, 🇬🇷 Greece

Hello Everyone! 👋

After a great start to the new season, we are back with our next SKG Java Meetup! 🚀

This time, we are going to check the "behind the scenes" of one of the largest multitenant software platforms in the world!

Topic
How do you run one codebase and one database schema for hundreds of thousands of companies, while allowing each of them to add their own tables, columns and code, without taking a maintenance window?

This talk explores Salesforce as an engineering product rather than a CRM. We'll open up the published design of its multitenant, metadata-driven architecture: virtual schemas stored as metadata, "flex columns", pivot-table indexing, and a query optimizer that picks a different plan depending on who is asking.
We'll look at what's publicly known about the large Java runtime underneath, and at Apex, the Java-flavoured language that runs on top of it.

Then we get hands-on. With live code, we'll hit a governor limit, fix it, and move work off the request path. Along the way we'll see why the limits are really the multitenancy contract written as exceptions, and how that changes the way you design code.

🎤 Speakers
The session will be presented by Menelaos Radisis (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mradisis), Manager @Deloitte, and
Stella Vezdrevani (https://www.linkedin.com/in/stella-vezdrevani), Assistant Manager @Deloitte, and they will help us connect these ideas with concepts familiar to Java and backend engineers: resource isolation, database access patterns, asynchronous processing, scalability and designing applications for shared environments.

So no Salesforce experience is required. If you are interested in Java, backend engineering, databases, architecture or distributed systems, there will be plenty to take away from this session.

Agenda

  • 19:00 - 19:15 Arrival / Networking
  • 19:15 - 19:30 SKG Java Meetup Intro
  • 19:30 - 20:15 The 101st Query: Multitenancy at Scale
  • 20:15 - 21:00 🍕 Pizza & Snacks by Deloitte

🙏 Deloitte (https://deloitte.gr/) will be sponsoring our pizzas and venue for the event! 🍕 You can check out their open Software Engineering roles and positions here: https://deloittecm.avature.net/en_US/careers/SearchJobs

Gifts 🎁
Make sure you RSVP and join the event to get a chance to win:

  • 🎟️ 2 tickets for Voxxed Days Thessaloniki!
  • 1 JetBrains 100% free license for any product! 🏆

As always, participation is completely free.
Just RSVP, bring your questions, meet other developers from the community and enjoy the evening with us. 🙂

Whether you are a Java developer, backend engineer, architect, or simply curious about how a platform can safely execute custom code for thousands of tenants, this should be a very interesting one.

See you there!
